Monstrous spiders

I actually think I'm going to have a real heart attack any second.

DD is asleep in her swing chair, I was putting away laundry from the line and a massive spider has ran up my chest onto my neck and I've ripped the necklace DH bought me for my 30th a couple of months ago off 💔 along with my top and it's a good job I didn't have the baby on me otherwise I'd of probably dropped her.

I hate killing them but I was in an absolute frenzy and stamped on my top with it underneath it. I feel terrible now but I have such bad arachnophobia.

I do not want to pass this onto my DD 😩 any ideas how I can learn to live with them?

This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks one has run on me, another ran up my leg whilst watching TV with DH the other night. I just want them to stay away from me 😭

Literally had a huge one last night in our bedroom and now I'm recovering having just seen another giant in the kitchen.

What is going on?

We're entering spider mating season and the young males are drunk with hormones, charging round looking for a lady friend.

London Zoo does an excellent one day arachnophobia course called the Friendly Spider programme. I really recommend it. I still have a bit of the fear but I can usually manage to deal with them now. Here's the difference it made - I stayed for far too long in a terrible relationship because I was too scared of not having someone to rescue me from spiders! Thanks to the friendly spider programme, I am now a much happier single parent.

I've also done the friendly spider course and it was very good. I still don't like them though and get a bit flappy when I see a giant one. But I'm definitely better than I was. The guy running the friendly spider course was great at making us feel sorry for the big boy spiders running about looking for girlfriends at this time of year! Unfortunately though this is the worst time of year for big spiders running about, but by end of October/early November it will get better.
