Something odd when I wiped, bit worried.

Possible TMI, and I promise I am not a poo troll.

Yesterday evening I had a bout of diarrhoea, pale/whitish in colour. I've had this in the past with food poisoning.

This morning was a bit runny and pale again, and when I wiped I noticed what appeared to a a thin strip of bluish plastic, around 2 or 3 inches long on the paper...so somehow I must have ingested this without knowing Envy

What on earth could it be?

And perhaps that is why my belly hasn't been quite right over the last few days - because I ingested whatever this was. Thankfully no belly pain, but been feeling a bit nauseous today.

Any advice on what I should do?

I’m sorry this happened to you. Do you know the ibuprofen you get on prescription from Doctor? The ones with the pink shell? They look like smarties. Well. I didn’t realise our bodies don’t break down the pink coating and we excrete it whole. It was quite a shock. I hope you’re okay op any problems speak to your doctor xxxx

Regardless of the piece of blue plastic, if your poo doesn't return to a normal colour then see a doctor. Whitish/grey stools can be a sign of problems with the liver, bile duct, gallbladder or pancreas, like a blocked bile duct or something like that.

Was it definitely plastic?

I'd get checked out, it could have caused some damage hence the pain. I'd suggest 111 or try to get an early appt with GP tomorrow. If the pain gets worse/you pass more plastic/you don't feel right, get urgent help

Just double check it wasn't part of the toilet roll wrappings? I'd see a doctor for the whitish poos though x

I won't go into great detail but yes, pretty sure it was plastic.

I don't have any pain, but will see a doctor if that changes or I pass anything else unusual.
