Plastic eyebrow pencils are the worst

I think those plastic eyebrow pencils should be banned as single use plastic. You know the kind with the plastic outer and the refillable “pencil” material inside that you twist to reveal?

They seem like such a scourge on the planet, are expensive, and last about 5 minutes.

I got a Charlotte Tilbury one as they assured me they came with refills, just went to buy a refill (after it lasted about 3 weeks) and it’s £15! It must cost them literally 20p to make or less.

They’re everywhere! I’m going back to a normal eyebrow pencil that I can sharpen until it’s a tiny nib that lasts 6 months +.

Calling on everyone to boycott these plastic monstrosities with me! 😁

In positive news, shout out to Ren skincare who recently sent me 100% recycled and 100% recyclable skin care samples in aluminium tubes. We need more leadership on packaging like this. There is no excuse to be filling our planet up with unnecessary plastic tat anymore.

I know, it's awful.
I don't want to pick on it particularly, but the plastic in kid's toys is often obscene, especially when it's a toy that 'performs once' even if what remains is kept on a shelf for display. I'm thinking of things like 'magic mixies' and so many others. There are slime toys which have a lot of plastic in also.

Yep.

And recycling empties is not easy - my local Boots don’t do it despite their website saying they do, and in Superdrug they just gave me a wtf look.

Skin and me is good - aluminium tubes sent in minimal cardboard packaging, all easily recycled from kerbside collections.

I think this about lash extensions ,It's tiny pieces of plastic and bad for the environment not to mention all the disposable tools you need to have a set of lashes made and I literally used to be a lash tech myself ,It put me off seeing how much plastic waste there is at the end for tbh very little money ,People call me a hippy but it really annoyed me lol

Yes the beauty industry needs a massive shake up that all these horrible plastic things are seen as acceptable. I wonder what they’ll think about us in the future, if civilisation lasts long enough, when they see that we used the earth’s finite resources for such unnecessary things when alternatives were available! I’ll check out skin and me @BillStickersIsInnocent thanks :)

Brow Pencils that you can't sharpen are terrible!
