Travelling with husband and 18 month old for four nights to see family.

Accommodation option 1 is a 2 bed flat, has a terrace and fans.
Accommodation option 2 is a hotel, perfectly nice and has a pool and air con.

We are disagreeing which is best. Terrace would mean once toddler is in bed we can sit out and have wine, and she could have her own room, hotel room means once toddler is asleep we are committed to spending the evening quietly in the room sat on the bed.
However, in the hotel room we will be nice and cool and the pool and air con will mean we can get respite from the heat. Price point and location the same.

I was in high 20's to low 30 degree heat in the Canary Islands recently and I was nipping in from shop to shop to be able to cool down.

You'll need aircon.

If you aren't used to sleeping with aircon, it can be worse than a warm night. Make sure you are able to cool the room then turn it off to sleep if you need to. I have stayed at a friend's house with it on overnight and I struggled to sleep. In a hot country the best thing in my experience is just good natural airflow through the space.
