That we are being subliminally mindfucked by all of those adverts that run alongside the threads???

Emprexia · 27/02/2008 18:38

I dunno... but that petplan dog on the top banner looks a bit shifty.

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/02/2008 18:38

you might be on to something there lucyellensmum

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/02/2008 18:38

I might question your "we", and suggest "some"

BoysAreLikeDogs · 27/02/2008 18:39

Now that is one theory I have not considered LEM

BoysOnToast · 27/02/2008 18:40

why? what are they for?
have noticed a holiday one... think its a ploy to make us all want to run far away from our PC's? [smirk]

it has been horrible hasnt it?
sigh

lucyellensmum · 27/02/2008 18:41

they are trying to get us all, its just that some of us have thicker skulls than others

OP posts:
Desiderata · 27/02/2008 18:43

Yes, I just take my glasses off. I find that helps

Flllightattendant · 27/02/2008 18:44

Yabu, because I haven't got the ads. I must have a download that blocketh them.

Flllightattendant · 27/02/2008 18:44

That's why it looks a bit dull, I want ads

nkf · 27/02/2008 18:44

I can't stand that kissing couple. Can't even remember what the advert was for.

Kimi · 27/02/2008 18:44

what adverts???

lucyellensmum · 27/02/2008 18:48

Thats it girls, all we have to do is block the adverts and Mumsnet will become a flowery place of shiny happy people who offer disagreement politely thus: "I take on board what you are saying, it is a very valid point, might i offer my counter opinion, if it so pleases you?"

OP posts:
hecate · 27/02/2008 18:50

ha. wouldn't THAT be weird!

nkf · 27/02/2008 18:51

As far as I can see MN is always pretty much the same in terms of content. It's been a bit slower recently though.

lardylumps · 27/02/2008 19:10

I always miss the threads that are like this

3andnomore · 27/02/2008 19:24

oh I love a good old conspiracy ;)

SugarSkyHigh · 27/02/2008 19:33

did someone say it is possible to block the ads?

I hate the moving ones - most disconcerting

lucyellensmum · 27/02/2008 19:39

Sugar, someone should try and block them, and if they can't..............be afraid!

Does anyone remember HAlloween three, the one where the children became murderous after wearing the halloween pumpkins??

OP posts:
lucyellensmum · 27/02/2008 22:45

would anyone else care to comment on my conspiracy theory or am i just to argue this out with the voices in my head?

OP posts:
needsomeinspirationplease · 27/02/2008 22:48

it's the one with the wiggling finger - I always get a shock and think there is a big penis on my screen - weirds me right out
kissing couple horrible too - and it's an ad for nanny service or something - i sthis what you get from the nanny? nope, don't like it

fingerwoman · 27/02/2008 22:52

I have them all blocked. the big ones kept making my computer go all slow. it's so much nicer without them.

talkingmongoose · 27/02/2008 22:54

... adjusts tinfoil hat ...

lucyellensmum · 27/02/2008 23:07

how do you block them fingerwoman??

Ive not seen the finger/penis one.

In the oouple one, is that the wife or the nanny with the guy??

OP posts:
lucyellensmum · 27/02/2008 23:09

oh and there something else, when i sat down at my computor five minutes ago it was 9.30, its now ten past eleven - um, it seems to be interfering with time too

OP posts:
fingerwoman · 28/02/2008 18:43

i downloaded an adblocker thing. but I am using Linux, so no idea how to do it on a windows machine I'm afraid.
I am sure if you google ad blocker it'll come up with something though
