Would you recommend your car and what model is it?

Im very drawn to how smart the dashboard looks and have become a bit obsessed with having one! First time in my life I’m able to choose a car I want instead of just what’s cheapest.

Im particularly interested in the GLC and the CLA. I have 2 young kids in car seats still and a pram.

I'm considering a Mercedes A class for my next car, is it very expensive to maintain in terms of servicing, repairs and tyres? I'm used to Ford currently which I assume is cheaper....!

If you take it to Mercedes for servicing then yes it will cost a bomb for a major service where extra bits are due to be replaced!.

Had a c-class. Amazing to drive but really uncomfortable and impractical. Cost a fortune to run! Best car I’ve ever driven but wouldn’t recommend!

Same here.It did feel like luxury driving-but at a price! I got rid of mine a few months ago as it was diesel and ULEZ is hitting my city next year so I wanted rid of it before diesel car values drop through the floor

We have a GLC, I adore it. It has never put a foot wrong, unlike my old BMW which broke down at least 4 times a year (at 3 years old).

Thanks everyone I’m going to keep my options open! I currently have an Audi A4 but it’s ancient and on its last legs so I’m looking to upgrade. I was thinking another Audi to be fair so might go for the Q5!

Hmm. I have a 2017 CLS shooting brake. I love it, it's a nice ride, although DH says it's not "sporty" enough. Personally I just drive it economically from A to B so I don't really throw it around lol. When I need a burst of speed it's got plenty of oomph.
I do around 1000 miles a month and average around 49-53mpg.
the downside is the alloy wheels, they are notoriously soft on Mercedes abd BMW so I do feel as if I'm constantly dealing with tyre abd wheel issues on our badly-repaired roads. I mainly drive right in the lane to try abd keep wheel damage to a minimum.

Mind you, took my car in fir service a couple of weeks ago abd got loaned a courtesy car with the flash new dashboard.. NO THANKS 😂

We have 3 mercs in total, mine, my mums old CLK Which is around 2002 plate and a super car plus DHs ancient but trusty E class estate which has the turning circle of the Ark Royal but is as reliable as Old Faithful abd brilliant for long journeys as it's like a moving living room

I have an older E Class estate and it’s never missed a beat, other half has an Audi that’s always in the garage. You can get a bit of a bad one from any model. I like my older one for the more basic interior though, all the cars these days seem to look like the bridge of the starship enterprise. Give me a radio with some real buttons any day of the week, but each to their own. Based on courtesy cars when mine gets serviced, the GLA is small inside for how big it is to park in narrow spaces. I can park a LWB van, it’s not a car that’s unworldly big to park, but it does need more consideration than a fiesta for no real internal space benefit.

I’ve herd there is loads of issues with q5s, I’d look at an Audi A5/a6
i loved my a4
