I honestly don't think I'd really be affected much if I were only limited to these - would people really notice if they were limited to five different countries' cuisines?

Gah I forgot Turkish. I want that too.

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 04/08/2023 20:30

In answer to the question about what we had in mind if we chose British or Indian; for British, it’s mainly the roast, plus some puddings. Partly influenced by nostalgia for my mother’s and grandmother’s cooking.

Indian, I was taken by the breadth of the choice. But if I have to narrow the pick I think I would go Gujurati.

And I said British for the shepherds pie, cheeses, breads, traditional puddings, pies both sweet and savoury, Yorkshires, roast potatoes, etc.

CurlewKate · 04/08/2023 20:12

The people who've said English or British-is that roast dinner or shepherd's pie? That sort of thing? And Indian- is that a region?

For me, it's Yorkshire puds, bangers and mash, meat and two veg, home grown seasonal fruit and veg, roast dinners and so on.
