Singaporean encompasses Chinese, South Indian and Malay cuisines as well as fusion peranakan and eurasian cuisines. Then there are dishes that were invented in the country - Hainanese Chicken rice is the outstanding favourite but we have chilly crab and cereal prawn, Hokkien Prawn mee etc -heavenly dishes.

Italian, US (covers the best English options too), Mexican, Chinese, Indian.

My favourite food is Vietnamese actually, but it's hard to get hold of with no good restaurants nearby, so if I'm being restricted it would be a poor choice. Thai and Turkish were both in the list originally too.

French cooking for the technical stuff, with a nod to Japanese too. Technique is so vital. Italian for the reverence for vegetables and freshness, but this is also true across Asia. Indian arc going east for spices and seasonings.

But I think we also need to rank our starch preferences because that influences too: mine is bread, pasta and potatoes equal, then rice.

Yes OP YABVVVU to ask this. It's much too hard.

In fact I'm having a vanishingly rare night to myself and decided to treat myself to an even rarer takeaway.

I've browsed deliveroo and justeat and am sat here with absolutely zilch, because there is no good way to make this decision, there's just too much pressure!
