holiday let being sold

NC just in case!

I'm travelling to another part of the uk for work and have to stay locally for 2 weeks so I have booked a holiday flat through a holiday site. It is s/c, it is local to the office and comes under the daily accomodation allowance my work pays. (they don't have their own booking website like other employers do).

Anyway I've paid a deposit, looks a nice place, decided to look it up on facebook, nosey at the owners FB to see any more pictures, and discover that they are putting the flat up for sale and moving! The local estate agent is also advertising it on their facebook although its not on their website or rightmove yet.

Naturally, I am worried about how this affects my stay, whether I should find somewhere else, and whether I'd lose the deposit if I were to change to another holiday flat. I did message the owner to ask, are you moving, no they said, we've changed our minds, but 2 days ago the estate agent is still posting pictures and arranging viewings. Is the owner lying to me? What do I do, I can't afford to lose the deposit and I'm sure from the holiday company's perspective, they wont know if the flat is sold or not will they?

What are my rights? I don't want to name the holiday company (not airbnb or booking.com though)

Presumably if it sells though it'll take months to go through? When have you booked it for?

Speak to the letting agent. They likely have a date that they can take bookings up to.
In a similar situation the property was sold on the understanding that completion would not take place before a certain date due to bookings.

Thanks, yes I will try to speak to the holiday company. My stay is beginning of November.

The most important question is when is the booking for? 12 months away? No chance. 2 months away? No worries.
