Not just your basic hotel with pool & treatments, but somewhere with all the different rooms to go in and out of (sauna, salt & steam room, plunge & hydrotherapy pool etc.) and preferably offers triple bedrooms.

Have a look at Ribby Hall near Blackpool. People rave about it, and it has that ‘journey’ through the different sections.

Rocknrollstar · 03/08/2023 08:46

I think you need Ragdale Hall in the Midlands. It’s a five star hotel with loads of different rooms and a roof top pool and a bar. Breakfast is served in bed. Sea ham Hall near Newcastle is also very highly rated.

SleepWouldBeADream · 03/08/2023 13:46

They both look amazing - ragdale hall would be more convenient to get to but it’s definitely over my budget unfortunately. 😬

Which part of the country?

WhatWasISaying · 03/08/2023 13:51

Champneys Forest Mere is lovely, been going annually for the last 15 or so years.

SleepWouldBeADream · 03/08/2023 14:22

@Merryoldgoat preferably somewhere between Derbyshire and Oxfordshire.

Recently went to Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire and it was lovely - cheaper than Ragdale too I think.

TempName247 · 03/08/2023 14:30

Center parcs sherwood is one of the best I’ve been to for having different rooms

PuffyShirt · 03/08/2023 14:31

Chewton Glen has a lovely spa, but it might be too far as in Hants.

Namechangedforthis25 · 03/08/2023 14:33

I was going to say penny hill park but that would be too far

in which case any centerparcs or champneys definitely does the job and won’t be too pricey

NameChangeIRL · 03/08/2023 14:36

Ardencote in Warwickshire is lovely and if you want to splash out, Calcot Manor in Tetbury

Ragdale hall is lovely, but the breakfast in bed really annoyed me when we stayed there. Does anyone actually want breakfast in bed??

Agree on this

AtleastitsnotMonday · 03/08/2023 15:18

Might be a bit too far south but Carey's Manor in the New Forest is lovely.

GhostDecider · 03/08/2023 15:19

Hoar Cross Hall is good

Also the beautiful crescent shaped spa at Buxton, which has a roof top pool too

Both have lots of different rooms

It’s optional. You can still go to the smaller dining room for breakfast if you prefer. Ragdale sometimes do offers so make sure you’re on their emailing list.

wagnbobble · 03/08/2023 15:36

Agree Sherwood Center Parcs is the best spa I`ve been to - can do as a day guest

Idrankyourbananamilk · 03/08/2023 15:36

The one in Buxton (Buxton Crescent) has this and it’s lovely.

cyclamenqueen · 03/08/2023 15:47

Another vote for Ragdale , I wouldn’t normally choose breakfast in my room but I actually really enjoyed it . Another place is Swinton Park which has steam rooms etc

drsp51 · 03/08/2023 15:56

Ragdale Hall is fantastic, we’ll worth saving up for and, as someone else commented, watching out for special offers

countdowntonap · 03/08/2023 15:58

Moddershall Oaks in Staffordshire has triple rooms.

summerlovingvibes · 03/08/2023 16:02

Ragdale another vote and they sometimes release great deals a few weeks/month before date if they're not booked.

Sarvanga38 · 03/08/2023 16:02

I love the breakfast in room at Ragdale, round a table with friends and no one else to worry about.

Ragdale several steps up from Champneys, but a nice weekend at Champneys always good too (apart from one stage in Covid-ish times, when they were having supply issues at Forest Mere and barely had any food🤣).

Pashazade · 03/08/2023 16:30

Any of the Aqua Sana'a at any of the Center Parcs. Some have rooms built alongside the spa with private access.

We didn’t rate this as highly as Ragdale. I think it has spa lumped onto a hotel vibes that OP wanted to avoid. All the going up and down stairs to get to the different parts gets wearing and when we were there a couple of pools were out of action and the steam room was too hot for anyone to actually use. There’s not the scenic countryside views that you get in the outdoor pools at Ragdale. Buxton itself is lovely though. Although last time I went to Ragdale a man was snoring in the sleep room louder than I would ever thought was humanly possible!
