I grew up in the 90s and was distracted by boybands and found Pinks music genetic and nothing special.

I've just watched her tribute to Sinead O'Connor and her duets with Kelly Clarkson and I'm blown away by her as a performer and a person.

I've been a Pink fan since I wa a teenager and now at the grand old age of 36 I still think she's great.

Sometimes though we don't always click with someone until many years after we "should have done"

I feel like she's genuinely a nice person who doesn't take any shit. I don't doubt that she has her flaws like many of us though.

Oh I never judged her. Just didnt like her music!

I Love pink. In my early 20s my anthem was Don't let me get me. That song could have been written about me

This. And who knew but I just didnt get it then I think all of her competitors were singing such meaningless songs at the time that sounded cool.

@RitzyMcFitzy whoosh over my head

I love Pink and have done for years. I first saw her live on her Try This tour in 2004 and again in 2019, both amazing concerts, and even in 2004 she would incorporate her gymnastics into the show. Favourite song is Who Knew, although there’s so many that I love.

missed out on tickets to her last tour as I was waiting to try for Taylor Swift ones for Dd instead!

Toomuchrubbishonnetflix · 02/08/2023 21:18

YABU to not have noticed how brilliant she has always been! But I’ll let you off now you have seen the light. She is incredibly talented and I think hugely underrated.

Newuser75 · 02/08/2023 21:20

Pink is amazing! Have seen her twice and loved it each time. She is the best performer I've ever seen. She also comes across as a really nice person and a really good mum. (Obviously I have no idea, she just seems that way 🙈)

Just Like a Pill and Family Portrait were the soundtrack to my teen angst years. Tbf I played them for my Year 11s (radio edit in case you were worried about explicit lyrics!) and they were blown away. And they don't hold back in telling me what they think of my 90s/00s music tastes 🤣🤣

QOD · 02/08/2023 21:24

Same! I went to a (ducking expensive) concert purely cos girly weekend away fomo and oh god she is absolutely amazing

my little gang of besties and I are all now

Where can I watch this place please

Haggisfish3 · 02/08/2023 21:27

There’s a really cool photo of her breastfeeding backstage at one of her gigs.

Concernedfriend2023 · 02/08/2023 21:31

Adore Pink. I feel very lucky that my kids are taken with her too. Took my 6YO DS to see her at Hyde Park a few weeks back and it was a special day. I've seen her in huge arenas with the acrobatics, and much smaller gigs with none of it, and she always smashes it. Powerhouse of a voice.

BringMeTea · 02/08/2023 21:34

Yeah she is a class act Pink.

GoingGoingUp · 02/08/2023 21:35

Her look and music style when she first started was very different to what it is now. I think it’s more the direction her record label pushed her in and very much a sign of the times - white artists were cute pop stars, women of colour were the cool hip hop stars.

Since she reinvented herself her music is much more varied and she’s really very talented.

rainyskylight · 02/08/2023 21:35

Appreciating this thread and will go back to revisit her music. Spent a lot of time listening Mizundastood on repeat when I was 13yrs old. Some truly great songs on that album.

I don't like beyonce at all.

I thought Christina had a stunning voice but again, like with leona, i think they're criminally misdirected into hideous pop music. Nicole scherzinger is another example.

Her niche is very much the kelly Clarkson style acoustic and she is stunning.

Christina would have made a fantastic jazz/blues artist with her voice because when she sings it, she sings it extremely well. But like you say, she was misdirected into pop, which had its place in the beginning, but never really "fit" her true calling as a singer.

Genie in the bottle with her range

I'm no kym marsh fan but I think shes another one criminally underused.

The Pink documentary is great, her 2 kids and husband on the European leg of a tour, amazing how she juggles two small children and a world tour.

That's what I didnt like with get this party started, so what etc but then watching her tonight 🥺

Yes but they came out about the same time as just like a pill. Not sure how old you are, I'm guessing similar to me. That song is amazing. The first time I saw her live singing it I bawled my eyes out.

I'm tired. I meant Don't Let Me Get Me. Forgive me Pink

Misundaztood was the soundtrack to my late teens. Absolutely loved her.
Finally got to see her live this year and she was incredible, completely blown away

Santiagopink · 02/08/2023 22:04

Her voice gives me goosebumps, it's so powerful and beautiful. I've seen her twice, dragged dh along reluctantly who thought it was going to be a crowd of 12 year olds and us. He was blown away. Her shows are truly spectacular and she is such an inspiration to women to be strong and fit, not skinny and starving. I honestly think she's one of the most beautiful women alive. Hands down, my favourire song is Just Give Me A Reason with Nate Reuss. First time I heard it on the radio it woke me up it was just so gorgeous. Been a fan since.
