My friend went to dam recently and you could go into coffee shops as a tourist

cocksstrideintheevening · 02/08/2023 16:49

I'm not sure exactly what you mean? I have been in to lots a couple of cafes in Amsterdam.

ManateeFair · 02/08/2023 16:50

I'm not sure what you're asking really? If you want to go into a cannabis cafe in the Netherlands, of course you can - they're legal so it's up to you. They're more about getting stoned than medicinal cannabis though.

Or are you asking if you can bring products back to the UK? I'm not sure what you mean.

there was talk of some of the Coffee Shops, especially in the border areas where i live, introducing the requirement that people using them must have a locally issued ID (to cut down drugs tourism)
Not sure if that was ever intended to apply to Amsterdam or not.
DD was recently there and went on a cannabis river cruise - no issues

getafringenotbotox · 02/08/2023 16:59

Just been and was in and out of cafes all day.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 02/08/2023 17:17

I thought the laws had changed restricting tourists to smoke weed in cafés ?🤔 I used to go regularly, but the last time I went was 2017 though.

yes this is what I saw online, too. Thats why I was wondering.

I would like to see if they have any other options for me with regards to strains and oils.

Thanks

Breda is far enough from the Land borders b not to count? I live very close to Venlo, Roermond and Sittard. I think they might check residency? I haven't been in a Coffee Shop for about 30 years tho

cultkid · 04/08/2023 12:14

So do you think if I show up with ID, a cancard, PX paper work they will just tolerate me? River cruise sounds nice, ive got three kids so cant be doing any of that!!

i don'T know what a cancard and PX paperwork is. I know my daughter who is neither from the NL nor resident there went on a cannabis river trip.

FWIW: the proposals that were made about ID were to show that you were a resident of the town where the cafe is located

Ponoka7 · 05/08/2023 17:18

My daughter was in Amsterdam two weekends ago and there wasn't any issues with them purchasing cannabis, there were flowers and oils available as well. Gon on individual sho websites or FB/Insta pages. You can even message them and ask.

somethinghastochangesoon · 17/08/2023 15:43

We went to so many!

Not one asked for if or anything like that.

This was central Amsterdam.

We were there three days so we went in probably eight different ones.

OwlBasket · 17/08/2023 15:59

Hi OP! I live in the Netherlands - the requirements for entry to coffee shops are set by each local council so vary Breda council don’t allow tourists. Tilburg and Eindhoven are pretty close and both do. Den Bosch is also close but doesn’t.

good luck
