So AIBU to think that if you don't speak up at work (Parliament for the last year) or turn up to the office (held a surgery in your constituency since 2021) that you would be sacked?

Us mere mortals would, yes. She has no shame.

Lonelycrab · 02/08/2023 12:25

Bloody well should be sacked, and her wages should be paid back to the date she actually did a days work for what she’s supposed to be doing, representing her constituents.

Utterly abysmal woman brought to us by an utterly abysmal government.

Sums it up nicely.

She’s a law unto herself. She’s paying both her daughters more than £40k a year out of our money too. She’s an absolute disgrace.

Yanbu. It seems to one rule for them though and one rule for us 😕

KrisAkabusi · 02/08/2023 13:27

You're not wrong, but she's hardly the first politician to do fuck all. She was elected, not appointed, so she can't be sacked. It's up to her constituents to replace her.

YourCrackersMiLord · 02/08/2023 13:38

Just another grifter who's main interest is self interest - not actually doing what she was elected to do.

And seemingly, the total of Sunak's power as Prime Minister to do anything about this, is having a little whinge on the radio.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 02/08/2023 13:58

I find it baffling that her constituents voted for her in the first place. She "resigned with immediate effect" weeks ago in hisdy fit over not being put into the lords yest is still happult drawing her salary. She needs to be deselected- its utterly ridiculous.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/08/2023 19:27

As I understand it, she can be deselected by her constituency party to ensure she doesn't stand at the next election as the Conservative candidate, but there is nothing to stop her standing as an independent or for another party, and no way to get rid of her before then unless she meets one of the very strict criteria for recall. It's right that no MP can be recalled by their constituents unless they've done something very bad - basically criminal, I think. see Margaret Ferrier for a current example - but just being a waste of space doesn't give grounds for recall. I think we just have to suck this up as part of the democratic system but the parties should and could do more to address this.

JennyForeigner · 02/08/2023 19:42

Absolute grifter. For shame.

cansu · 02/08/2023 19:44

It is absolutely outrageous that she is still being paid.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 02/08/2023 19:46

She’s a disgrace.

bellabasset · 02/08/2023 20:00

Look at the website Tgey work for you. I didn't vote for our Tory MP but he's been very supportive for me so I will vote for him as he's a good local MP. Someone should set up a petition to Parliament to remove her. I'd sign it

WeWereInParis · 02/08/2023 20:11

Sunak should kick her out of the party.

(I do not know if that is actually possible under the rules of the Tory party, but if he can, he should)
