To ask how to arrange airport transfers for different airports

First time I've booked a holiday where we fly out from one airport and back to a different one. I've looked online but taxis are coming up at about £200 for the way there and none available for the way back. We live about 35 mins away from the airport we are flying out from and about an hour from the one we are flying back in to. Any tips?

Public transport?
Which airports are you travelling through?

Cookerhood · 01/08/2023 20:44

There are often coaches between airports, or trains. Which airports are they?

No public transport options?

£200 for a 35 minute journey is madness. Are you coming a limo or something? My local airport is 25 minutes away and I don't pay a quarter of that for a standard taxi there.

We had to do it last year due to an airline balls up.
We drove to the arrival airport, left the car there and got a Taxi to the departure airport

Just checked. My 25 minute taxi journey to our airport is less than £30. Get a quote from an ordinary taxi firm, not an airport transfer company.

Thanks all. To answer the questions... we are flying from Birmingham and back in to east mids. We live about 30 mins away from Birmingham. We need a big car as we have 3 adults and 2 kids as well as 3 suitcases. We could get the train to Birmingham on the way and stay at a hotel the night before (last train is at 10.30pm and flight is at 4.30am. No options for train on the way back

You need to phone round local taxi firms and ask what they can do for you. If I look online I get high quotes but my local taxi company did £65 to Gatwick (40min) and £90 back from Heathrow (1hr).
