A mother is mad because she took her child to Butlin's and she got "flea bites"
Then takes several photos of what is clearly chicken pox, both at the point of blisters and then typical scabs.DM

Lisa Gray, 40, from Somerset, complained to Butlins where managers initially offered a £64 refund from the £667 trip, despite their entire holiday being 'ruined'/

Yep!!!

Cazzovuoi · 01/08/2023 18:01

Yes that’s exactly what that is!

ThreeRingCircus · 01/08/2023 18:01

Yes, definitely chickenpox.

SoupDragon · 01/08/2023 18:06

I agree it looks like chicken pox.

my only doubts about it being chicken pox are 1) were they all over her and 2) she saw her GP.

reelcat · 01/08/2023 18:06

Yep!

FictionalCharacter · 01/08/2023 18:08

Never heard anyone say “pickled by flea bites” before. Pickled? 😂
Yep, definitely chickenpox but she’s determined it isn’t.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 01/08/2023 18:10

There's a photo of what looks like a flea on her hand.

They do look like flea bites to me, especially being around her ankles.

Jobreveal · 01/08/2023 18:13

No they look like flea bites that she's reacted badly to. You don't get that much redness and swelling
around the blisters with chicken pox.

YourNameGoesHere · 01/08/2023 18:16

She first thought it was bed bugs and then apparently saw the sofa was infested with fleas and then she claims to know the difference between chicken pox and bites her story sounds all over the place and in all honestly they look exactly like chicken pox, infected bites don't tend to look like that at all and surely if the place was infested with fleas her and her other daughter would also have been bitten?

Not everyone gets bitten. We had fleas once. I got bitten (mostly around my ankles) but my husband didn't at all.

Though, mosquitoes bite him and not me, which isn't relevant at all.

PuttingDownRoots · 01/08/2023 18:22

My DDs leg looked similar after scout camp and it was definitely insect bites in her case.

Fuckingfumin · 01/08/2023 18:24

I've no doubt there was fleas, given that there's photos of fleas.

But those are chicken pox!

They do look like chicken pox but I got bed bug bites from a hotel once that reacted just like that. If they were all over and she was the only one bitten, definitely chicken pox.

3WildOnes · 01/08/2023 18:55

I had an allergic reaction to moscito bites which looks like this. They blistered just like chicken pox and then scabbed over.

If they are chicken pox then she would have most of her spots concentrated around the trunk and face. A different distribution of spots would suggest am allergic reaction to insect bites to me.

Yarnorama · 01/08/2023 18:58

The presence of so many fleas plus the concentration of pustules around the ankles totally aligns with it being flea bites. Blistering like that when bitten isn't that uncommon.

she was seen by her GP though. I suspect they know the difference.

MaryShelley1818 · 01/08/2023 20:18

They are infected bites, which the GP confirmed.

CheekyHusky · 01/08/2023 20:34

That is NOT chickenpox.

RoyalImpatience · 01/08/2023 20:43

It looks loos cp. Thats doesn't ean it is... She took her child to doctors. Would she lie and proclaim it's fleas after seeing the doctor?.. Her dd had a reaction to fleas.

Jobalob · 01/08/2023 20:55

If they aren’t over her body and are concentrated on her legs and exposed areas I expect they’re infected flea bits she has scratched. Looks nasty but v poss not chicken pox

Busornobus67 · 01/08/2023 20:57

Sounds like hfm.
Blisters even on sole of feet.

Happygerbil · 01/08/2023 21:03

Looks more like HFM to me. Not chicken pox

Lisagray82 · 22/08/2023 00:32

When someone has an allergic reaction to bites they then blister. Would anyone really be stupid enough to not know the difference between bites and chicken pox???? I saw a GP who also confirmed this.
