Mullingar or Carlow for 2 days

We have 2 nights to kill in Ireland. 2 DD (3&8)
2 airbnbs in the full Irish countryside on farms. Both gorgeous.

Which would be better for things to see?

Or other places to stay within 2hours of Dublin

2 hours from Dublin, I'd recommend Kilkenny. It's a beautiful city and the castle is great.
Or
Wicklow for mountains, powerscourt gardens and waterfall, glendalough, beaches

Mullingar is grim to be honest!

Thinking somewhere in countryside. So in neither town but nearby.

Will look at Kilkenny now!
