To be very suspicious of large plastic sheeting that has appeared in my garden

Suddenly overnight a very large piece of plastic sheeting has appeared in my garden. I have no idea what it is, where it came from or what I should do with it now! It is very unlikely to be neighbours as we are far apart and it wasn’t in a throwable location from either of the boundary fences. It is a little bit concerning because it looks to me like someone gently placed it where it was! I went out and moved it with DS but now I don’t know what to do with it. DH says I am being crazy by thinking it’s suspicious. But it wasn’t there last night and it was just there this morning! So of course I’m confused and don’t know why he’s not.

Your husband is planning to kill you and wrap your body. Only explanation for it

😳 omg.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 30/07/2023 19:12

The plastic, my friend, was blowing on the wind.

😂😂

And I thank you for the earworm.

I have what appears to be a perspex window which I found in the back garden one day. I asked the neighbours if they had lost part of their sheds but no-one had. It is now in the garage as it is a useful kind of thing which the aliens or burglars may not have realised when leaving it there. Prior to this I would always check for headless dolls, ships anchors and bags of potatoes hanging from the front wall in case there was a sign.

Sorry op but until you have had a trampoline fly over you haven't lived!

User265438765 · 30/07/2023 19:49

We probably need a photo of it in situ but I suppose it's too late now

Pancake678 · 30/07/2023 20:08

Do you have a back gate with vehicle access?

First post nailed it. Has it got weird squiggles on it?

Definitely aliens.

xyz111 · 30/07/2023 20:29

It's been windy here for the past couple of days. I'm sure it just blew there

happy2go · 30/07/2023 20:48

It’s definitely not the wind that’s done it. I went out and inspected it after posting this and I can see that it has holes all the way through like perforations. Therefore this particular piece of plastic definitely wouldn’t have been caught in an updraft.

I really think it has fallen from somewhere. The way it has landed square in the ground makes it look like it has fallen from a great height. The grass underneath was flattened.

As I say. Definitely aliens.

No it’s not aliens. The sheeting has a sign on it which originated on earth stating the type of plastic it is. It is man made in design however admittedly something I’ve never seen before.

Well now we do need a picture of it.

Even sheets nailed down can get whipped off by wind. My missing aluminium sheeting is proof of that.

If you had said it was aluminium, I may have claimed it as mine.

MissingMoominMamma · 30/07/2023 21:06

It has clearly fallen off an aeroplane or alien spacecraft. If it’s the latter, they might come back for it.

ohsuzannah · 30/07/2023 21:06

Neighbours shed roof landed in our garden last year, we live on top of a hill!

happy2go · 30/07/2023 21:07

None of you are listening. It’s not alien in origin nor is it part of a plane.

Humans have genetically modified aliens and they've escaped the lab.

Or it's just wind. Cos it's just wind. Cos you know random trampolines ending up half way down the street three doors down can't possibly be the wind.

Steakandquinoa · 30/07/2023 21:10

So confused. Need a picture.

Watsername · 30/07/2023 21:10

I also had some plastic sheeting appear in my garden overnight. Though I reckon mine has blown in... unless it was the cat.

chezpopbang · 30/07/2023 21:13

Have you looked underneath it? Could someone be digging an access tunnel or something similar? Using the sheet to cover the entrance or exit. Maybe go out and check the ground?
