Probably not AIBU but I need some help/reassurance.

So I was feeling exhausted end of last year and then started to get pain on my shoulder. Then I had a lump appear on my upper left chest wall. Measures 2.9x2.7x1.6 cm hyperoehoic mass with angular margins. Had a breast mri last week and yet to have results, but have a biopsy booked for second week in august.

Getting frightened as everything I’m reading about this and what it looks like from ultrasound is making me think the worst.

it’s not looking good, is it? Please be honest if you have an opinion, it actually helps

Hi there. Don't know how to interpret your scan but wishing you all the best. Must be such a worry for you.

Hi, waiting for results really is crap. I do understand and I’m currently waiting for biopsy results myself.
All I do know about ultrasound is that hyperechoic does not mean it is malignant, it can be benign and things like lipomas can show as hyperechoic. The angular margins may be giving them concern. Have you had bloods done?
The mri will give a lot more clarity for you and I hope the results come through very soon for you.

hey, massive handhold xxxx

I know it's impossible not to worry but regardless of what this is, as soon as you have a diagnosis and treatment plan, you will feel loads better, and much more in control.

I had a lump picked up in regular screening, two years ago. Mine was malignant but it was removed and I had chemo & radiotherapy which took 6 months, all together. Two years on, life has returned to normal.

Yours may be totally benign and this time next month, it'll all be over, but it really is better to know for sure. Good luck xx

Thank you all. I’m just panicking as I’ve been waiting for so long that if it is something I’m scared it’s spread. The lump has definitely grown since my ultrasound as it’s pressing on nerves and my arm is constantly aching now with random sharp pains.

So sorry to hear this OP - I'm afraid I'm no use when it comes to interpreting scans either. Hope you get your results soonest, huge handhold to you. Can you take anything for the pain in your shoulder?xx
