I agree that there's some allegations about some very at least questionable behaviour from nearly all male music artists, hardly anyone is deemed as being saintly (Ringo maybe?)

My question is why this is, why are or were they all such pigs. I feel if you analysed the behaviour of say your dad and his mates behaviour in the sixties, there wouldn't be nearly the same amount of horrific behaviour. Fame, money, drugs, availability of sex, power? What was it?

It depends how you view ‘proven’. If double-figure accusers with compelling stories about a man who openly slept in a bed with pretty little boys before discarding them for the next pretty little boy, owned indecent images of children and is perhaps the world’s most obvious groomer, is enough proof (it certainly is for me) - then yes.

The dude worked to bring down the Medicis, but pissed off his fanbase by failing to give the crowd the entertainment he'd promised. That's not quite the same.

You are quite correct but if the odious ex Sir J Savile had been alive and brought to court he would still be entitled to a fair trial just like any one else charged with an offence
