Matching underwear

Reading the how often do you wash your bra thread, reminded me of a person I used to work with who would only wear matching underwear and always purchased 1 bra and 3 pairs of matching knickers. I on the other hand have no worries about mixing up underwear and tend to only wear matching underwear if I am.likely to be having a 'romantic liason '
So are you a mixer or matcher.

Yanbu = mixer
Yabu = matcher

That woman probably has her shit together more than I ever will to be that organised.

but staying on topic, I suppose my underwear always matches because I wear the same boring black bra and the same type of black knickers every day. High waisted multipack ones

Henrysmycat · 28/07/2023 04:07

Used to be that woman when I was single with a massive income and smaller boobs. I used to drop serious money on Agent Provocateur and enjoy it.
Now, I buy the plain skin colour bras from bravissimo (after DD, I ended up with an G cup) and any pants that are on offer from M&S.
How the mighty have fallen!

I always wear matching bra and knickers. They may not be absolute matches but if I wear a black lacy bra, I'll wear black lacy knickers (never thongs!). If wearing a patterned bra, then I'll wear absolute matching knickers that I would have bought together. I always have done and I'm 52 now. I have every bra folded in half with two pairs of matching knickers inside, in my underwear drawer. My daughter (24) does the same, as does my sister (54).

I don't think I have ever owned matching underwear

I brought my first set a couple of months ago - I'm 51 🤣🤣

Thinking about it-probably stems from my mum buying me matching underwear (amongst other gifts) every Christmas and birthday since I can remember - one bra with two matching knickers, same for my sister, neice and daughter, since they've worn bras. So I've always had lots of matching sets. It really wouldn't occur to me to wear an unmatched bra and knickers.
When I'm putting laundry away, I just tuck the knickers inside a matching folded bra, so always ready to wear.
White t shirt bra = plain white cotton knickers etc.

DandelionLeaves · 28/07/2023 05:16

I never have bothered with matching sets and have no wish to start now. It's never even crossed my mind to buy sets. No complaints from DH.

Hollyppp · 28/07/2023 05:24

I’ll wear matching bra and pants for date night / sex but never my daily choice. Always comfort then!!

Totaly · 28/07/2023 05:29

I used to.

Now I go for comfort.

Knickers are no longer black because the teens have black knickers and I don’t want to wear there’s in a washing mix up.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 28/07/2023 05:30

Yes, always matching. I don't know why it's important to me, but it is!

FuzzyPuffling · 28/07/2023 07:30

I match my underwear to my outerwear, so black trousers require black knickers, but if I'm wearing a white top, my bra is white or nude. A black bra would look wrong.

FannythePinkFlamingo · 28/07/2023 08:28

I have a couple of matching sets, but they are for high days and holidays only. I am large of nork so have about 4 very expensive bras on rotation and just grab whatever knickers are on top.

mondaytosunday · 28/07/2023 09:06

As long as they are both black or both beige that's all that counts. When I was young and child free I probably cared more what my undies looked like!

Zanatdy · 28/07/2023 09:08

Only if seeing someone new, but even then it doesn’t have to be exact matching - just similar colour!
