Does anyone know if corsa automatic cars are good? I’m in need of an automatic car probably wrong time to buy as prices are crazy but probably only going to go up .

looking at a corsa 2018 30k miles 13k sounds ok?
does anyone know if there good ? Or any other suggestions please don’t suggest SUV or anything other than a hatchback

looking at the corsa the insurance is a lot cheaper than other small hatchbacks , need to look at road tax but so far corsa sounds good I only wish I could afford the new shape 2020 onwards

@ntmdino I do understand what you are saying, and amongst the thorns are roses but average workshop bills of the prestige makes are significantly higher than smaller and mid range makes.

True enough, they are higher (although we often do the brakes and general servicing ourselves, which helps a bit for the simple stuff). Our view is that the higher maintenance costs of the more complex bits are offset by the relative lack of depreciation - a £6k BMW now will maybe lose a £2-3k over the next five years, whereas a £13k Corsa or similar will probably be worth £5k after the same time has elapsed.

It really depends whether personal circumstances allow taking that long a view on it, though.

Honda Jazz or VW Polo. Both have decent auto gearboxes. The Polo is a bit nicer to drive, but the Jazz is really roomy inside with a good size boot. My DH and DS are over 6 foot and have no problems with room.

Nissan leaf after 2013 they were much improved with the battery power and range.
It’s an electric car and all electric cars are automatic.
Free road tax as standard, because it’s electric it’s much cheaper to run and to service.
Kia electrics are also very good.

£13k does sound quite high for that. We just spent £13.5k on a 2017 Ford Kuga, so definitely would expect a corsa to be less than that. We had one as a courtesy car once and it was awful. The best small hatchbacks we've had have been Focus and Fiesta and a polo

No ,no no, certainly not anymore, the ongoing costs of any premium car far outstrips the benefits of potential build quality .

Op you could get a brand new Kia with 7 year warranty for under 14k

Which Kia is 14k please? It might be worth me waiting a couple more months to save a bit more?
is Kia feed automatic good

Will look into polo

Don't - VW are not reliable.

Get a Toyota Yaris. It really isn't any smaller than a Corsa (my mum had an automatic Corsa and loved it by the way, I don't think they are unreliable, but that is only a sample of one!)

Those are exactly the ones I shortlisted and then I ended up with a Corsa because that was the only automatic that size I could find (in a reasonable distance for my price range).

Yorkielover · 29/07/2023 18:12

Down to Kia Rio or Hyundai i20 or i30

yes a Corsa is local to me but it’s 13k and the above I can get online around 12k

The Aygo is smaller than the Yaris, it would be too small for you. The Yaris wouldn't though.
