Background checks

I know this sounds bloody mad!! Is there a way that I can do a background check on a man that I met online? All I want to know that he is not a criminal or violent- there is absolutely no trace of him on the internet and due to previous traumatic experiences I would feel so much more in control if I knew he was safe.

There’s no trace of him on the internet? That’s a bit of a red flag. Although not unheard of. I don’t have any social media due to my job but most people do.

I think you can do a Claire’s Law check on him if you have his details but it all seems a bit much for someone you’ve just met (presumably) or is only online. Maybe find someone who you find socially, through friends, work etc.

I met him online about 4 weeks ago. And we have met in person 5 times now
