Apologies I know I am BU posting here but I'm at a loss as to what this is & how to get rid of it! Will ask at the pharmacist tomorrow but thought someone wise on MN might know!

Well, it looks very much like a verruca to me.

ChelseaGem · 25/07/2023 18:53

Verruca.

Summerdays23 · 25/07/2023 18:57

Either verruca or wart. Either way it's same treatment

Ohforfox · 25/07/2023 19:00

Thanks so much I thought verrucas had a black centre which put me off but its getting bigger & annoying her. She is under 12 which limits my options as far as treatment I think. I'm looking at zinc oxide tape currently and would appreciate any other tips!

I'd say a wart.

verruca. we have finally successfully treated DS verrucas, each night before bed dabbing with one of those Scholl verruca pens, then as soon as it's dry cover with a bit of Zinc oxide tape (duct tape doesn't stick!) adding socks on so less likely to fall off!. Leave the tape in place as long as it will last. After several nightly treatments it will start to come away and eventually peel off. We tried everything and this has actually worked. Duct tape I found tough to get to stay put but the zinc oxide stuck well. We did some gorilla tape as well, in between. Not sure which worked better of the two tapes, maybe a combo of them!

It looks like a verruca. I've just used this suggested method to get rid of one, that my husband had had for ages. Soak a small amount of apple cider vinegar on a piece of cotton wool. Then tape to the foot with duct. You'll notice as you file down each night, there will be black roots like threads. Pick these out with tweasers, then it will be gone! Don't bother with Bazooka the verruca. We tried for months and the apple cider vinegar worked a treat!

Boots do an own brand freeze treatment for anyone over 4 if you're looking at treatment options. Can't comment on whether it works mind you.

bimbodoc · 25/07/2023 19:08

Verruca or wart, treatment is the same, the key to treatment is to upset the lesion so the body creates an inflammatory response to it, which way you upset it doesn't really matter, which is why you will see that everyone has a different thing that worked for them. If you have more than one, only one needs to be 'treated' as the body will act on all of them via its inflammatory response. Eventually untreated almost all will go of their own accord but may take years. Beware of cutting them out or doing anything disfiguring.

Ohforfox · 25/07/2023 19:51

Great advice thanks so much! Will start treating tomorrow and hope it works quickly.

Looks like a plantars wart. I had a couple when I was a kid, had to get cut/ frozen off.

Ohforfox · 13/08/2023 09:44

@liondreams followed your advice & got rid of it thank you! It came off yesterday.
