Plaster down toilet

Newlywedded · 25/07/2023 06:35

i had a plasterer in recently who threw the plaster down toilet, it’s sunk to bottom of toilet, scratched the enamel and I can’t get it off.

is this normal for plasterers to do this? If it’s standard then I’m being unreasonable for being annoyed about it so won’t say anything to him. But he’s asked me for a review and I’m holding off doing one for now.

That’s crazy

what an idiot.

why haven’t you told him? Ask him to fix it

Wannabegreenfingers · 25/07/2023 06:38

Absolutely not normal or right. Only pee, poo and toilet paper should go down the toilet. It's damaged your toilet and will block the sewer pipes. What a moron this person is.

Jinglybangly · 25/07/2023 06:39

Tell him you will wait until he has replaced the toilet to give him a review.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 25/07/2023 06:45

When I had a plasterer in the house earlier in the year, he did put buckets of waste water down the toilet before I could stop him. I was livid, and told him so. Not actual big bits of plaster though, that is ridiculous!

Happened in our house top, brand new toilet, replaced it a few years later as it looked so unsightly, started to look very stained as time went on, no way of cleaning it unfortunately

Binningtonianrose · 25/07/2023 06:53

There's absolutely no way plaster will scratch an enamel toilet. No way at all.

Bax765 · 25/07/2023 06:56

You need to raise this with him and get him to sort the damage.

Hibiscrubbed · 25/07/2023 07:31

“You want a review? Shall I tell them how you slung a load of plaster down the loo and really damaged it? Or are you going to pay to fix that…?”

edenhills · 25/07/2023 07:57

Did he pour wet plaster or bits of dry plaster down?

Somewhereovertherainbowweighapie · 25/07/2023 07:58

Have you paid them yet?

Helenahandkart · 25/07/2023 08:00

No tradesman should ever be putting any kind of waste down your toilet. It’s really bad for the pipes. I always tell them not to do this before they start, and point out a scruffy bit of garden where they can empty dirty buckets etc. Anything solid should go into rubble bags and you agree beforehand whether they dispose of it themselves or leave it for you to take care of.

I thought you meant a sticky plaster 😆
