Aibu to think this accommodation has bed bugs?

I am staying with my family in accommodation. First night and there is a funny smell in DS’s room. DS has come to me and said there were five of those carpet bugs in the opposite side of his bed but next time he looked they were gone.

aibu to think carpet beetles do not hang around in groups in the middle of the night and this could be bed bugs?

what to do if so? I’ve got my mum with me and two kids. And everything is unpacked in that room. Arrrghh! I cannot afford to have bed bugs.

I was in temporary accommodation when baby was a day old, put there by council. There were cockroaches everywhere so obv I wanted to get out. Council couldn't care less. So if it's that kind of accommodation I wouldn't get hopes up. Hope it isn't bed bugs and you're ok

Just ask to change rooms then, I know it's a pita but better than possible bedbugs. Have a lovely holiday

Thank you but there is no reception here so nobody to ask!
