I had a complaint in with a well known media corporation because there was a fault that lasted a good couple of weeks and our BB/TV didn't come back on after fault was restored some 17 days later and then even after engineer visit. In the meantime I changed service provider as we can't be without BB etc. for most of a month. I had a call from a manager today. When they booked the call two weeks before they were all sweetness noting my 13 years of being a customer, saying its not good enough and saying they'd fix things so I didn't need to ring around as had been + talking compensation (9.33/day for each day of service outtage if fault not rectified in 48 days as per offcom - i bought that up they noted it).
Had call today. They offered £20 after one month of NO service. Then said I wasn't eligible for compensation.
Then I had to spend all morning ringing around to cancel my service as the manager did not help with that at all. Of course, the medis co. said they couldn't as new service provider hadn't closed the porting the ph no across process. So I rang new service provider who gave me all the info on when closure happened so I got back to the company with the details (down to second the porting job was completed and closed). Apparently the company then submitted the 'form' and I'm now waiting to see if my account actually does close...
Have raised a complaint about that little episode.
AIBU in so far as has anyone ever got compensation from these bastarding corporations? Is it worth taking up with offcom if media company and me can't agree. I want them to refund the monthly fee and compensate me for no service... compensation should be automatic apparently hahaha.
For second complaint I've asked for comp of my time as I reckon I've spend a good couple of hours in the phone chasing all this. The manager was horrible - guess that's their job ...
