I'm not sure if I'm just getting old and miserable or not but today on the beach we were surrounded by large groups that were playing loud music.
We arrived early, around 9.30am and sat between the lifeguard flags as we have young children that wanted to go in the water. There were a number of family groups with young children sat around enjoying the beach. About an hour later a big group sat right behind us and had a massive (gettoblaster size) speaker and started playing loud music, heavy bass type stuff, then started drinking alcohol. Then a short time later another group rocked up to the side of us with another speaker and started playing loud music.
It was so loud that we couldn't hear anything above the noise of both groups music. None of the people in the groups went near the water.
So am I being unreasonable to think they should have sat away from the families that were trying to enjoy the beach and swimming area or should we have moved out of the area, but would mean we were in an area not covered by the lifeguard service, or should people who want to listen to music on the beach not have it so loud it disturbs others!
Maybe I'm just getting old and not aware of current beach etiquette 🤣
