On holiday - men being loud

I'm on holiday with my husband and Dd and I can't help but notice, men being super loud. Making a show of jumping in the pool and then the noises whilst swimming, men yawning and making a fucking song and dance about it, or laughing so loud - 'I'm so tired/fun/hilarious *delete as appropriate, that everyone has to know about it.

I don't notice it much at home, so I feel like they are showing off and want attention on holiday.

Is it just me? Or are men more annoying when you're on holiday???

It's like they really like to make their presence known.

The worst thing about being on holiday and in dining room is the kids crying because they don't like the food .

Amen to that.

Absolutely this. I'm really sensitive to noise which I'm aware is a me problem.

But it does mean I notice it a lot and it's very often men doing this type of thing. Performance sneezing or stretching, whistling, bellowing laughing. Fucking irritating.

The point I am making is that male entitlement never takes a day off. That's all. And sometimes, it's amplified more when they think they can have more clout.

I think it’s more that men, just, exist.

women can’t do this as easily.

so it’s not about showing off, it’s that we’ve been conditioned to be small

YABU. Men are always annoying, not just on holiday.

I hear you OP. Just come back from a really lovely Greek island and the town we stayed in was very geared towards a chilled adult holiday.

In our hotel there was one family with a daughter aged about 9-10. Other than that it was couples or small groups of female friends.

The dad of the girl (not British - I would say German or Austrian) made more noise than everyone else out together. Constantly yelling out to his daughter, playing ball games in the pool, throwing daughter on then bombing after her (splashing everyone else while doing so) making a huge deal about dragging umbrellas around to where he was sitting and generally being a loud PITA in an otherwise quiet chilled hotel.
