Haven Holidays (UK) complaint

Posting here for traffic (sorry!)

Has anyone complained after returning from a Haven Holiday? How was your complaint handled and were you offered any form of compensation?

I've never complained after I got home but they dealt with a complaint on site really well. Upgraded accommodation and some vouchers from memory.

Did you make them aware of the issues when you were there? We got upgraded and vouchers iirc but it was around 15 years ago.

Are you still there? You need to complain at the time. If you don't, they will say you should have.
If you do, and it's not rectified to your satisfaction, then you email head office while still there. Then you can follow it up when home.

Have also complained on site and they did try to fix it. (Sadly no vouchers or upgrade but it was peak season)

It really does my head in when people complain about things after the fact. If something is wrong, talk to staff on site to try and get it dealt with there and then.

The type of people who complain when they get home just want some money back.

We went earlier this year and our caravan was filthy. Complained straight away and got £50 quids worth of food and drink vouchers to use while they cleaned, then the following day they phoned me (we were off site in the local town) and said that they were refunding us the entire cost of the holiday as the caravan needed a deep clean, which we weren't expecting.

Two days later we got a general email to all account holders with changes to Ta and Cs, one of which being that they would not refund the whole holiday for a dirty caravan but would be allowed two hours to clean with no extra compensation. They still honoured the full refund. It was one cock up out of years of custom and it wouldn't put me off going back. They have always been brilliant with other minor complaints we have had.

Similar to others complained when we arrived. Upgraded instantly. (The first caravan smelt of smoke - grim)

Have just got back from Haven and I'm annoyed with myself that we didn't complain about a rude staff member while we were there it really put a dampener on our holiday! First time we have been on a haven holiday aswell

We have had cause to complain twice. Whilst there.. Got a £50 voucher for their site restaurant both times.

We complained after we got home because both of the activities our DS was booked on were cancelled and the communication about it was terrible. We got the entire price difference between the just caravan and full price stays (some £200) which was way more than we were expecting. We have been pretty loyal customers though, which possibly makes a difference.

We got comp and upgrade after complaining whilst there, the bathroom was disgusting was god knows what splattered everywhere .. yet the toilet had the sanitised paper wrap on. As we’d drove 5 hrs my DD6 was desperate for toilet so I let her use it .. after I’d wiped it down, then we went to complain. Upgraded caravan was clean and much better but DD went down with the most horrific sickness bug on the 2nd night I’m 99% sure was from that bathroom so we packed up and left early. Never again. If you complained on site and it wasn’t resolved I’d try again.
