DH has just put the dishwasher on a long cycle in the middle of the day 😡 I have all of his family coming shortly for a meal to celebrate his birthday.

surely everyone knows that during the day it’s a short cycle and overnight it’s a long cycle.

now I have to wait 3 bastard hours for it to finish with the pots building up.

of course slightly lighthearted but what does give you the rage?

'New and improved' is always a lie. Stop fucking about with stuff.

littlebopeepp234 · 22/07/2023 16:57

Mine is a moan about drivers lol

When I’m driving and coming up to a parked car and another car is coming the other way so I get behind parked car to wait for them to pass and they just saunter along driving extremely slowly while I sit there and wait for them! Or even worse they can see me waiting for them behind the parked car but turn off at a junction before they get to me without even indicating so that I am waiting for them to pass me for nothing! Rude very rude!

Also drivers who don’t bother to indicate when pulling in to the left which takes me by surprise!

Drivers who think it’s ok to go below 30 absolutely everywhere, even on a 50 or 60pmh speed limit holding all the traffic up while passing many signs on the road which clearly state the speed limit. Or those who do 30mph in a 40mph zone and 40mph in a 50 zone etc.

Drivers who have priority on a mini roundabout as they are to the right of me but flash me to go first! I mean wtf? You wouldn’t do that on a normal roundabout!

BumWhisperers · 22/07/2023 16:58

Men trying to 'help' me park/manoeuvre my car and then being told to calm down about it when I say it pisses me off. I've been driving for decades and never crashed nor had a speeding ticket etc, so I consider myself a more than decent driver. I really dont need a man to tell me how to reverse ffs

Parking in the village I live in!! I am presently taking photos of all the cars parking on the pavement......yes I mean you young neighbour with a baby! People who have more vehicles than there are people living in the house,so they park causing inconvenience to others and not one f* is given.

BustyLaRoux · 22/07/2023 16:59

Open mouth eaters. Enough said!

DSS uses sofa as day bed and piles all my cushions up one end and sprawls across it as if it’s a bed. Can’t seem to sit on a sofa as per normal person. Drives me bonkers. Then leaves room and leaves all my lovely cushions squashed up at one end. Rage!

Background noise (I’m deaf and I can’t hear people when there’s a radio or TV in the background which has been left on. My brain can’t cope with two different levels of noise at the same time).

Wind. The weather type rather than the flatulence type. Gets everywhere. Whips hair in face. Rage!

Sand. Just pure rage. Especially if brought home on shoes and bastard children walk it into the bathroom!!!!!

Woman handling babies, with those stupid acrylic talons !

Agree with this! Family of 3 have 4 cars and park them all over the street and across my front so people who want to visit me cannot park outside my house!

Also people with massive driveways who constantly leave their car parked on the road which inconveniences traffic who have to wait behind their car every time another car comes the other way

gingerguineapig · 22/07/2023 17:01

Not sure there's enough space in the box for all my "rages" Grin But things that really really annoy me are:

Cars parked on pavements
Off-lead/out of control dogs and their stupid owners who put their poo in plastic bags and leave it dangling off a nearby tree
Garden bonfires
Loud fireworks/loud anything eg stupidly loud exhausts
SUVs
People who walk too slowly/people who block paths
Runners who run on the road when there's a perfectly good pavement next to them
Cars parked on pavements
Parked cars with engines running
Did I mention cars parked on pavements?

MaryBeardsShoes · 22/07/2023 17:02

People banging on about dopamine all the time.

BadgerFacedCoo · 22/07/2023 17:02

People who constantly ask for advice and never hear it, consider it or take it. Absolutely infuriating. I'm virtually glaring at my cousin here!

morelippy · 22/07/2023 17:02

Amazon and their bloody stupid alcohol rules!

Yes! Why do they insist on dawdling when they see you waiting? Ditto those who won't wait for pedestrians to cross a side road they want to turn into, but then drive in extremely slowly.

People who wish their young kids or baby a Happy Birthday on social media. WHY??? THEY DON’T HAVE AN ACCOUNT AND WON’T SEE IT.

People posting ‘happy heavenly birthday Grandma, you’d have been 167 if you were still with us’ on social media.

people parking on pavements

people not controlling their off lead dogs

people who put a million # at the end of EVERY social media post.

I don't mind the 'happy birthday little William - one today' greetings. People are just chuffed that their baby is one and want to celebrate his birthday, and let everyone know... BUT I agree about the bloody 'Happy Heavenly birthday' shite! If it's someone who died recently (like the last 5 years,) then yeah maybe... But not if she died in fucking 1976!

My folks died earlier this century, and I did wish them happy birthday/miss you so much etc, for about 5 years, and I also put a post on for the anniversary of their death... but then I stopped. No need to carry it on to when they would have been 199!

ALSO hate people who can't control their fucking DOGS! I am sick of seeing SHIT on the pavements in my little village too. AND going for a walk in the woods and seeing 2 massive fucking mutts hurtling towards me, as the owner has let them loose. There are signs around forbidding this, because they terrify the farm animals and wildlife. I used to love dogs when I was growing up, but have grown to dislike them now, and grown to hate the fucking arsehole owners!

I am not too fussed about people parking a bit on the pavement, as long as I can get past, and a wheelchair or pushchair or guide dog (and person with limited vision) can get past. What does boil my blood though, is people parking on the pavement or road when they have a fucking DRIVEWAY. Makes me see red, especially if they're opposite my DRIVEWAY!

People who seem not to realise that the street where I live is one way, despite the no entry signs and the road markings and the fact that all the cars are parked pointing one way, they still drive down it the wrong way!!!!

Yeah this. ^ And are they saying it's been SHIT for the past 20/30/40 years?! Confused

Along with those who suddenly pull out of a junction in front of you while you nearly crash into the back of them and then decide to dawdle along and then slowly turn into another junction 10 seconds down the road! Gets me every time

Park runs now completely overrun with dogs. I mean, it's one hour.

Fortunately ours isn't - there are usually only two or three at a 200-300 person parkrun.

My bigger gripe is the people who whine about parkrun when it only lasts an hour. Again, I think we are fairly immune from this as the park had an extension around the time parkrun started, so people tend to walk their dogs in the other bit.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 22/07/2023 17:07

People who stop immediately inside doorways when they go into or out of a shop. Or get off the escalator at the top and stand right there.

When people who have the luxury of not having to work to support themselves come on MN and accuse working mums of “farming out” their children by using childcare to enable them to work to support their families.

If someone ever said it to my face I would struggle to restrain myself from being very abusive. But of course no one has the balls to actually say it, it’s all from the comfort of a keyboard.

I actually think this is the opposite way round... I don't know anyone rich enough to continue to work while having young children.

For most of us the income we could make coming in wouldn't even touch the cost of the childcare outgoings.

I had it this week. Two women with prams walking side by side, blocking the entire width of the pavement. I had to walk on the road to get past them, with not so much as a smile or a thank you as acknowledgment. Entitled pair of cunts.

If I see them in time and it's safe to cross the road, I will. But otherwise I just stop and make people go round me.

Livingtothefull · 22/07/2023 17:09

People who park their cars across the pavement so I can't get past when with my DS in his wheelchair. So I have to get on and off the kerb (not an easy or quick task) and onto the road. Not just inconvenient but downright dangerous for us.

People who leave buggies and trollies in the wheelchair space on the bus and refuse to move them when DS gets on. Or who insist on standing next to the chair or around the doors (despite seats being free) and refuse to move when I am trying to manoeuvre DS's wheelchair off.

People who take the lift at busy times, and don't move to make space for DS forcing us to wait....even when there are escalators.

People who don't move out of the way when I am walking down the pavement with DS. DS has a manual wheelchair which I have to push. It isn't easy being forced to stop & start when I am pushing the combined weight of adult DS and wheelchair.

People who show their evident contempt for the disabled by shunning, staring at or insulting him. This happens regularly.

Litter. I think littering and fly tipping should carry the death penalty!

This makes me rant about local councils and their ridiculous policies and the fact that we have no national strategy for waste.

I know some people are lazy CFs and would dump their rubbish anyway, but councils don't make it easy when they have so many restrictions on who can use their tips and when they open etc.

Zepherine · 22/07/2023 17:11

Barbecues. Anytime, anywhere.

People who put their bags on an empty seat on public transport and won’t move them to allow someone to sit down.

People who slam doors and gates.

E-scooters and bikes on pavements, especially coming up behind me. I can’t see or hear you and I might just step right to look in that shop window and you are going to plough right into the back of me.

Shoppers who don’t get their money/card ready to pay and fumble for it for ages.

Shop assistants who carry on talking to one another when you are waiting for help. Same who don’t talk to you at all. I had one today. No acknowledgement at all and I didn’t even realise she was waiting for me to pay so we both stood there, me like an idiot, until I realised the transaction had gone through.

Call centres.
