DH has just put the dishwasher on a long cycle in the middle of the day 😡 I have all of his family coming shortly for a meal to celebrate his birthday.

surely everyone knows that during the day it’s a short cycle and overnight it’s a long cycle.

now I have to wait 3 bastard hours for it to finish with the pots building up.

of course slightly lighthearted but what does give you the rage?

Some twat banging into my car and driving off. Some else left a note on the windscreen to say they clocked the number plate but they wrote the number plate down wrong :-(

the person who left the note was the one who crashed into you I think.
they leave a note so any witnesses think they’re doing the honourable thing and leaving contact details.

The fact that so many people use and smell so strongly of cannabis these days.
Shop assistants who love to chat when there's a long queue waiting.
Going into a shop where there's only a 10 and 12 on the peg and being told by staff... it's prob available online! Great can I order it here and pay now?
No!
Can you check if other stores have it and get it sent here?
No!
Aaaaaaggggghhhhhh! If everyone ordered online they'd be no shops.

Also the fact you have the added cost of delivery when you normally wouldn’t if the clothes were just available in shops!!!

To be fair I found the whole thing about being told to order clothes online was happening way before Covid. I remember struggling to buy boys outfits for my toddler back in 2015 and the limited clothing they did have in shops was the wrong size and was just greeted with the “well it’s available online so you can order it there”! Yeah sure, let’s buy a £5 pair of shorts and then pay an extra £5 for delivery because you don’t have anything the right size in store!!! However things do seem to have declined even more since Covid.

Thought of another one. Train platform indicators which say the train is on time when the National Rail website/app is already saying that it is late!

People that drive 30 in a 60!!!!!

DerekFaker · 26/07/2023 13:06

When you move to the side on a pavement to let (non disabled) people past, and they take their sweet time and then don't bother saying thank you.

littlebopeepp234 · 26/07/2023 13:57

Just had one happen to me half an hour ago! Not sure what it is about me but there will be a bus pulled up at a stop and the minute I get close enough to overtake them in my car they put their right indicator on to pull out!

Well today, I was right behind a bus when it decided to pull up to let someone off. The driver didn’t then drive off after, no! He decided that he’d stay at the bus stop blocking the road and lots of traffic coming the other way so I couldn’t over take. The very minute the road was clear on the opposite side and I was able to overtake, bus driver put his right indicator on!!!! However, instead of setting off decided to sit for ages and ages with his right indicator on! I kid you not the very minute I decided I’d had enough and pulled out to overtake, bus driver then decided to set off!! FFS!!!!!!!

The exact same thing happened to me, although it was a coach. He couldn’t move on bc bus at stop for ages in front of him on busy high street. There was room for me to overtake both in my small car. As I drew level with his window, he pulled out almost into me. And then gave me a grim angry look. You can always tell when they do something to a woman that they wouldn’t do to a man. Tiny Penis Syndrome perhaps.

KT1995 · 27/07/2023 08:46

Like a PP, people who call their animals "fur babies", use DDog/DCat?DIguana etc
Even worse, when the pet dies, likening it to losing a child. Horrifying how shallow this is. We love our pets yes, but likening it to a child??! Beyond weird.

Any use of "D" as in MN speak, but especially when it is an "AIBU" rant against a partner. He is hardly a "Darling Husband" when you have just said he has assaulted you is he?

Eating chocolate in bed (very, very rarely) and not realising the crumbs have gone everywhere, only to wake up and it looks like you've shat the bed.

My neighbour and I going out of the door at the same time so you have to do that "shall we chat or just wave" dance.

Small spills you dont see in the kitchen which result in wet socks

My mum phoning anytime before 9:30am and ALWAYS saying "sorry if I have woken you up" .... I have kids, I work, of course you haven't woken me up 🙄

trixie1970 · 27/07/2023 09:44

The trend of British people using American phrases when they speak or write, eg:

Trash instead of rubbish
Dumb instead of stupid
Purse instead of bag
Movie instead of film
It sucks instead of it's crappy, of whatever
Pants instead of trousers

The list is endless but it drives me up the bloody wall with rage!! 😡

Dullardmullard · 27/07/2023 16:03

I’ve thought of another

judgemental parents that have prefect kids whilst they think yours are feral

yeah right

SouthCountryGirl · 27/07/2023 16:11

When you're trying to overtake a slower swimmer and they're hogging the middle of the lane making it impossible.

AngeloMysterioso · 27/07/2023 16:50

Unnecessarily slow drivers. Especially when they’ve pulled out in front of me even though there was nobody behind me and they could have pootled along without holding anyone up. Do you think your car will spontaneously combust if you go above 35mph on this national speed limit road????

ALongHardWinter · 27/07/2023 16:56

Drivers who park across dropped kerbs. I have a disability that affects my mobility and I sometimes find it difficult to step up and down kerbs that are on the high side. Time and time again I find someone has parked right across the dropped kerb. Drives me mad. I'm actually wondering if there is any law about this, does anyone know? When I actually said something to a driver who was just getting out of his car after parking across a dropped kerb,he said there was no law prohibiting it,it was just 'a courtesy'.

LittleRedYarny · 27/07/2023 17:04

People who ask you to do something and you say “sure, no problem.” And then they keep going back to the point and rehashing it and re-asking.

This constant nagging is so disengaging and frustrating!

(Yes I have ADHD but I have strategies to help me remember, so deadlines are very rarely missed. Nagging me makes my ADHD want to scream a big FU and walk away.)

Mimilamore · 27/07/2023 17:31

Mud... not farm mud on a farm but mud around play equipment and across access paths....
Youtube addiction
Dirty crocs for garden in living room
Empty plates/ bottles in fridge
Lateness without a good reason, learn and leave sooner
Dog poo, dog poo bags lying on paths / hanging on fences/ trees
Rubbish everywhere... streets/ alleys/ country roads/ hard shoulders
Rubbish sacks being put out just after bin men have gone so gulls can rip them open for a week
I could go on... I am a curmudgeon but do appreciate nice things around me too

Mimilamore · 27/07/2023 17:35

Another, people who act surprised at the checkout when they have to pay and rummage slowly for purse/ card/ phone whilst having a chat to assistant... 10 people behind you mate, be prepared

Mimilamore · 27/07/2023 17:36

And people who meander along in bike lanes along seafront... I no longer ride a bike but ffs, get over, wake up!
I said I was a curmudgeon 😏

WiddlinDiddlin · 27/07/2023 18:21

Not fucking listening/ignoring me ...

This weeks particular example...

Our wee old dog is not well. I had a suspicion vets would ask for a shit sample, dog is only shitting at best, once a day.

I ask him to get a poo sample, as dog poos outside.

He ums and ahs and doesn't do it. I can't do it (wheelchair, can't get on floor level to do that!)..

Following day, vet asks for a shit sample.

Dog, having not eaten much bar the odd mouthful for over a week is now running on empty, as a result has not shit for over 48 bloody hours, so no shit sample, and one when produced, and got to the vet, is going to take DAYS to produce results... we COULD have been ahead of the game here in helping the dog but nope... all because he doesn't effing do as he is asked.

@ALongHardWinter

Is it illegal to park in front of a drop kerb?

The Highway Code rule 243 advises drivers that 'Except when forced to do so by stationary traffic, DO NOT stop or park: where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchair users and powered mobility vehicles, or where it would obstruct cyclists. in front of an entrance to a property'

Vehicles should not park next to a dropped kerb. This could be a driveway, cycle lane or to help people cross the road. If you park in front of a dropped kerb, you may get a parking fine, also known as a penalty charge notice (PCN).

Some people use software to speak their posts due to sight issues. That might have an effect.

Too good to go.
It's a great idea and I've got some nice things.
But the amount of food you're getting is getting smaller.
Don't know if it's worth my while.

I can see your viewpoint on that. It is also tricky on social media as people can post their TGTG bag haul and say it is from one bag.. I feel like they have gotten two bags 😂
