DH has just put the dishwasher on a long cycle in the middle of the day 😡 I have all of his family coming shortly for a meal to celebrate his birthday.

surely everyone knows that during the day it’s a short cycle and overnight it’s a long cycle.

now I have to wait 3 bastard hours for it to finish with the pots building up.

of course slightly lighthearted but what does give you the rage?

@LadyGrinningSoul85

People with 'gender disappointment'.
Fuck off. It's not a real "disorder". You just wanted a dolly you could dress in ribbons and frills and you're upset that you're having a boy because they're not as interesting to dress up.

Are you saying that all gender disappointment is when it's a boy and not a girl then? Wink

Also, it's a bit rude to assume everyone who wants a girl wants 'a real life dolly to dress up in ribbons and frills' !!! Hmm Not everyone wants a daughter because they want a real life dolly to dress up. FFS.

My DD spent most of her first 5 years in dungarees, and jeans, and shorts and t-shirts, and I took her to museums, zoos, playbarns, woodlands, and rivers and the beach. She also loved playing videogames from a very young age.

She also helped her dad clean the car, and helped me with the gardening, and got covered with mud and dirt sometimes too! I certainly did NOT spend all my time dressing her in pretty frocks, and lace and ribbons like a fucking doll. Hmm

@Spendonsend

This is very specific to my life. My husband scuffs his feet when he walks on about every 4th step...

OMG MY husband drags his feet (sometimes) when we are walking around a shopping centre (or supermarket.) (Somewhere with a smooth floor.) Gives me the rage. Angry

He walks slow too sometimes. No reason, Only in his 50s, perfectly fit for his age, so annoying. I start walking away from him (as I start to walk quicker.) He says 'where are you going? What's the rush?' I tell him it's making my back ache walking at 1mph!!! 😬Doesn't do it all the time, but sometimes..........!!!

I like to go for walks to keep fit/healthy and try and do five or six 2-3 mile walks a week. (I know, not a massive amount, but it suits me!) and I HATE it when he says he wants to come, as he walks like a fucking snail! 🙁Much prefer going alone for my 'fitness walks....'

People who have no sense of personal space and insist on standing RIGHT behind you in a queue, so you can almost feel the breathing. Gives me the creeps. Fuck off!

Yes! Even more so when I have a pram. I’ve nearly run into people just by turning around because they were that close and the only direction I could go was where they were standing. I found too many did this directly after covid restrictions were dropped. There is no need to be that close to a stranger in a queue.

I hate people walking really close behind too. I have had occasions when I suddenly stop for something, and they go straight into the back of me, and then they yell and cuss at me! It's 100% THEIR fault as it would be if we were car drivers/on the road driving. I just say 'shouldn't walk so bloody close to me then!' Hmm

One time, when DH and I were walking in town, this woman who was less than 2 feet away from my DH once (behind him,) went careering into the back of him, (when he suddenly stopped to look at something.) She yelled at him 'fucking HELL you need brake lights you do you daft old fucker!' and scowled at him.

I said 'and YOU need to stop walking so close to peoples HEELS that we you're almost up their arse you stupid cunt!' #sorrynotsorry

And before anyone says anything, yes that DID happen! Hmm

Those GU10-style bulbs. There are about 15 in my kitchen ceiling and as soon as I replace one a different one goes. They’re so fucking fiddly as well. They were there when we moved in and it’s probably a pain in the arse - and expensive - to get them replaced with something sensible. Bastards.

If they’re not already LED bulbs, it’s easy to switch over:

other luminousities ( sp ) are available.

I turn long dish washer cycles off. But my absolute bug bear is a rinse cycle for 18 mins (steam coming out of my ears) for not very dirty dishes when 22 mins is a quick wash and they can then be put away.

My husband will put on a rinse if there are few spaces rather than putting on wash. Waste of resources and I then think it's washed and have another load to do but nothing is clean. And breathe.

Cas112 · 23/07/2023 17:24

My partner filling the sink 3-4 times a day to wash 1 or two glasses and maybe a spoon instead of letting them build up a bit and just filling the sink once. Waste of water 🙄

Heyhoitsme · 23/07/2023 18:12

Waiters/waiters who ignore dirty plates on the tables. We were out for lunch today and the waitress looked everywhere but the tables. Luckily there was a good manager who constantly told her to clear tables.

Thanks tanstaafl I’ll look out for those. Although what I really want is a single 100W incandescent bulb on a long wire in the middle of the ceiling. Grin

people who are rich and send the self entitled children to uni for 3 years to do a useless degree at an equally useless uni that isnt worth the paper it's written on ffs that's a waste of 3 years fgs get a job fortunately government are putting a stop to this
said rich parents who dont take any housekeeping or rent money off their working adult pay for driving lessons buy them a car pay for them to go on holiday fgs how will they ever know the value of money
these same youngsters that as students spend half their day laying in bed no part time job all courtesy of mum and dad
Yep that all gives me the rage

Ultravox · 23/07/2023 18:41

People who listen to stuff on their phone or iPad in a public place without headphones. RAGE!!!

orangetriangle · 23/07/2023 18:43

the absolute ultimate is people of my own generation who are still in this day and age ignorant to neurodiversity. So much damage was done in previous generations due to lack of knowledge fgs nothing gives me the rage more there is absolutely no excuse these days it's all around you educate yourself for christ sake ignorance about this gives me the absolute rage comments such as well we didnt have all these conditions years ago or everyone is a bit autistic and they will grow out of it. I can accept it just about in the older generation but in my generation I just want to punch said person for their absolute stupidity certain people I'm looking at you!!! The damage done in years gone by due to ignorance of this is truly shocking and quite frankly heartbreaking

In similar vein, family members who refill the same drink into a new glass. I have neither a dishwasher nor unlimited glasses. Use the glass you've just dumped on the worktop or more likely left on your desk for your third glass of lemonade.
I don't like the sink full of hot water and a teaspoon either .I'd probably prefer it if everyone just drank water straight from the tap. Anything that prevents half washed or dirty glasses from congregating unnecessarily.

Facebook- why is anyone still on it?

Because if you’re someone who has family and friends in another country/countries, it is easier to keep in touch all in one place. It makes me laugh and there is little drama on my feed. I can also watch tv shows on it that I would have to otherwise pay for. I’ve had it for almost twenty years. I registered when you had to have a uni address to be able to access it.

Our new tumble dryer. It spins in one direction only, so bedding forms a giant soggy ball and doesn’t dry. 😡

3 or 4 tennis balls in with large items.

Useful for groups. Otherwise - pointless!

@PurpleButterflyWings I have this with my DH as well. He sometimes walks so slowly and I can't physically walk that slowly. I ask him why he's going so slowly - "well we don't need to get to x place yet. No need to rush". I don't want to rush, I just want to walk normally! In the end I just say that my hip and back hurt and I'm not walking more slowly!

We do go out for walks together and he walks at a faster pace which I can manage; but I don't do "strolls".
