Our dates don’t feel the same…

I’ve been with DP for 2 years now. Not engaged or anything yet and don’t live with each other yet.

Does anyone else feel this way after a while? We used to go on hours worth of dates, get a bit drunk, be spontaneous. Now we’ll go out for a couple of hours if that, and just go home because we’re exhausted after a long day.

is this normal??

Yes and no. Life inevitably changes, and the initial excitement settles. Routine sets in and all that, but I still feel the same buzz when I see my wife that I did when we were first together.

I think some of this is related to the way we talk to ourselves though. Some people tell themselves "oh, is this it? It's all become boring" etc etc, so of course, that is how they start to feel. I get around this by looking for all the things she does that brighten my day and try to do things that brighten her day as much as possible. This offsets the drudgery of life and routine.

Well. Same old.
Do you like him? If you do - see it and say to him.
