Wonky nose after Septoplasty - Eeek!

So I had a Septoplasty and a reduction of inferior turbinates on Tuesday to help with my breathing issues. I know it's very early days (3 to be precise) but I am VERY worried that my nose is even more crooked. It is incredibly swollen on one side which was expected but I did not think I'd wake up to it looking much wonkier! Any advice for anyone that's had a one done before? Did yours look uneven?

It did, really don't worry at this stage, everything looks crazy!

I had a septoplasty and turbinate reduction several years ago and it has settled down well now. For the first couple of weeks it's hard to tell what its going to look like until the swelling goes down. My surgeon said give it at least 6 weeks.

After 6 days I knew I'd done the right thing when I could breathe through both nostrils. I am thanking my lucky stars I got it done at the moment as I am recovering from a foul cold without getting sinusitis.

See I can't breathe at all but I was expecting the blocked nose. Was your nose swollen and slightly uneven? Mine looks like it's wonking 🥹

It'll be fine.
Take it easy for a few more days and cover the mirror!

If it's any help, I merely had my septum pierced this year and my whole nose blew up like a clowns. It's a very sensitive part of our anatomy.

You can check with your HCPs if you are safe to take arnica tablets, and if you're not already prescribed good antiinflammatories then check about those too.

Mine took two weeks to finally go back to normal. And you've had actual surgery! Fingers crossed for you.

It's really too early to tell. I just remember it being swollen and still occasionally dripping blood at this stage. You've had a chunk cut out of the inside of your nose so it's going to be a bit out of shape so close to surgery.

Could you tell how long(timeline) have you waited for this surgery to happen via nhs pls ,
