I'm due in work at 9am. I've suffered with painful piles for years, recently had them banded to no avail.
It's 2.30am and I'm in agony with them. Anusol, hot water bottle, paracetamol and I still can't sleep. I'm on my feet all day at work, and standing makes it worse.
AIBU if I call in sick tomorrow?

Not sure why your suffering all this time when they can be surgically removed and fixed also

She's tried , she's had them banded , it didn't work.

Of course you can call in sick. You poor thing, you must be feeling utterly miserable.

FFSwhatisthis · 21/07/2023 08:02

Have you tried zyloproct? It's prescription only in the U.K., but it's incredible.

Piles are miserable, and definitely a reason to call in sick. I find frozen peas in a rolled up food bag relieves them, but most effective is witch hazel on a cotton pad left in your bum crack on the pile.

Thanks everyone. I didn't go in, and I've booked myself in for a private treatment next week called ExRoid. £1195 so I'm really hoping it works 😢

Good luck OP. With piles as bothersome as yours (as mine were) all the creams and suppositories in the world won't touch them.
I had a private haemorrhoidectomy in the end. Worth every penny.
Given the kind of things the NHS does treat, it beats me why they deem piles to be something we're just supposed to put up with.

You poor thing, honestly it was the worst pain I've ever experienced. Please let us know how you get on with ExRoid
