New baby name

My step child and partner had a baby a few months ago and I find myself struggling to say the poor child’s name. Think along the lines of ‘Misty River’ or ‘Red Kyte’.

I realise this is their choice but feel so awful for the poor child who will inevitably be bullied.

AIBU to suggest we all call the baby by it’s middle name which is inoffensive?

Of course you're being unreasonable! You can't dictate what someone else calls their child!

By nursery they’ll be known as Misty or Red, which would blend in fine round my way.

YABU, and a bit snobby.

TrueScrumptious · 20/07/2023 19:28

Obviously you are unreasonable.

You're being utterly ridiculous get over it

ManuelBensonsLeftBoot · 20/07/2023 19:31

If your DC gave their DC a name you thought was ridiculous would you manage to say it?

Sealover123 · 20/07/2023 19:33

You can't suggest this to them, it's not up to you.
