Driving licence renewal

Anyone any idea how long they’re taking at the moment? I applied on line on Sunday, it’s “been issued” on the 18th which I guess means it’s now to be printed and posted. And as it’s AIBU:
yabu= you’re an idiot to apply three weeks before you need it to hire a car overseas.
yanbu= life admin eh, it’s a struggle but you’ll be fine.

Mine came in less than a week, earlier this month.

I applied for my first card licence last Tuesday, it came on the following Saturday

Phew! TBH I’m quite proud of myself, applied for the code to hire a car, noticed it was only valid until 29 July and I need it from the 4th August. I’m not panicking 😬

For what it's worth, I've hired quite a few cars in the last 2 years and have never been asked for the code...in fact I completely forgot to apply for it last week and wasn't asked.

Ds got his provisional back in about 3 weeks.
He hadn't a passport or anything so a relatively awkward one compared to renewal.

DD1 got her full licence through about 5 minutes after she passed her test. Not five minutes - but it was within a day or so. I was amazed.

nice and simple and showed me my licence was about to expire.
@Humidititties I’m hiring in America- pretty sure I’ve not needed a code or even shown drivers licence in England and Scotland.

DD passed her test on Friday afternoon and got her driving licence yesterday.
