Man just took my airbed from the side of the pool near our beds gand gave it to his wife and daughter up the other end. They’re having a grand old time splashing about. Part of me doesn’t mind a bit and part thinks he’s being a bit of a cheeky fecker. AIBU

Sorry - been out for dinner. I let it go at the time as they looked so pleased to be playing with it. Then after a bit looked up and it was gone - they’d removed it from the pool and put it behind their loungers to use for later. Went up to get it - smiled and said something polite and took it back. Not the first time I’ve had words over this at this hotel (been coming for years. Last time some German man nabbed our airbed - i let him lie on it and then retrieved it from the pool when he had finished with it. Only for him to march over and ask quite sharply why i had taken it. Told him it was mine and then he interrogated me a few times as he obviously didn’t believe me. 🥸

I think you are giving mixed signals by not intervening right away.

Lacucuracha · 19/07/2023 21:36

Cheeky fuckers! How dod they react when you took it from behind their lounger?

ItsNotTheGirlsWhoRiotAndStartWars · 19/07/2023 21:39

I get this with children and toy trains. My child puts a toy train that we brought from home [because this attraction only ever has tracks (because people steal the trains) ] down in front of them while they connect a piece of track. Other child swoops and takes it. My child asks for it back. Other mother lectures my child about sharing.

He should have asked if it was yours.

WhatADrabCarpet · 19/07/2023 21:43

Just go and ask for it back... he probably thought it was a communal one.

DinnaeFashYersel · 19/07/2023 21:45

Next time it happens you say

"Excuse me but that's mine"

It's not hard. Just say it.

I've never known a hotel that supplied airbeds. Sun loungers yes, but not airbeds. It seems odd that several people have presumed your airbed was communal. Are there communal airbeds supplied? Does your airbeds have "hotel" stamped on it? 😂

By air bed do you mean lilo? 🤔

If he'd have interrogated me I'd have twatted the cunt!

Many hotels have donut rings etc that other guests have left behind.

Well done, glad you got it back.

EsmeSusanOgg · 19/07/2023 22:04

Ikeasucks · 19/07/2023 22:08

You need to stick up for yourself more. Stop them when they go to take it!
