Coke zero changed recipe

Aibu to think that coke zero has changed it's ingredients again. It leaves a horrible after taste that is still in my mouth this morning ☹️

Hate when you see "new improved recipe!" on something you usually like. It's rarely an improvement!

Yes they have. It's started giving me gastritis. I've had to quit. Gutted as it was my only remaining treat.

I had one yesterday and couldn’t believe how like actual Coke it tasted - I haven’t had actual coke for a long time and freaked out I’d picked the wrong one. Felt like a lot less of the artificial aftertaste than before too.

Now, I'm as anti-sweeteners as all good Mumsnetters, but Coke Zero is (was? Sad) the only drink with sweeteners in that I could tolerate.

But thinking about it, last time I had it, I checked because I thought I'd picked up Diet Coke by mistake, which very much has a horrible sweetener taste.

@WorldCuppa I like a caffeine fix to wake me up in the morning. I don’t like coffee, gone off tea so I have a glass of cola. Shock Horror.

I used to drink far too much, and the article about aspartame made me panic. So I had a break and came back to it this week because I’m weak and it totally tastes different! I couldn’t put my finger on it but I didn’t enjoy it at all. I’m taking that it’s doing me a favour.

I thought it tasted weird when I had some the other day! I'm taking a medication that has changed my tastes and assumed it was that.
It tasted more overwhelmingly sweet, more like liquid laxative Diet Coke.

Most processed food ingredients change regularly, depending on supply chains, etc. YABU to assume any set of ingredients is always the same
