My boyfriend told me that he was going out with one of his male friends. This was a few weeks ago.

It turns out that he actually went for a seaside lunch and walk with a woman who he’s previously told me that he used to fancy. He reckons that his male friend was also there.

AIBU to be upset by this? He says he hasn’t lied as he came clean when asked but I don’t agree.

He would very likely be an ex boyfriend if that was me. You have every right to be angry and upset, I’d be telling him coming clean after is irrelevant, he lied in the first place and needs to explain why.

Thats totally out of order!

I wouldn't be happy with this at all. I'd most likely be done with the relationship after that tbh

If it was innocent why did he lie?

NESS111 · 19/07/2023 08:35

Why not ask her? and his friend he has told you he fancied her before and this sounds like a date. He is probably trying to play it down and make it innocent in case you hear something. For all you know he could of told her he was broken or breaking up with you.

You don't need this hassle. He is obviously not to be trusted. Why don't you save yourself future grief and get rid now?
