Birthday sleepover

its DSS12 birthday Saturday he’s having a friend to sleepover. They layout of house meant that when we moved in DDS and DD were small so had box rooms on 1st floor with our room and bathroom and DSD15 was 11 so had loft conversion with own bathroom. This weekend is not our weekend so DSD it at mums but as we see them on birthdays have said DSS can have a friend over to sleep. I think he should have the option to use DSD room as it’s the only room big enough for 2 to sleep in and it’s a special occasion and hes never had a sleep over here before and it’s empty but my DP has gone mad saying it’s her room and the boys should sleep in living room. ( which is also fine ) AIBU to think it should be an option for him to have a proper bedroom for his sleepover as a one off on his birthday, there’s not lots of personal stuff in there as they come every other weekend so I could easily take out anything needed and DSD is very kind so sure she wouldn’t mind if we asked her.

"No 15 year old girl would want their little brother and their friends sleeping in their bedroom. Ever. I know I definitely wouldnt.

I don't think you can speak for every 15 year old girl, I have a 15 year old that has the biggest bedroom in the house. She has left for 4 days away and suggested that if anyone else wanted to sleep in her room that was fine (I didn;t ask, and there is no particular celebration, she just thought one of the boys might like to).

My DSD would be exactly the same she’s a lovely 15 yo and very kind to both DSS and DD. The issue isn’t that she’d not like it as if she did say no it wouldn’t happen my issue was that DP point blank refused to consider it and as DSS has the box room and a high sleeper there’s no way 2 12yo will fit in there. But he ll be fine with living room I just feel it’s a bit unfair on him not to have the option as it’s his first sleepover and his actual birthday too I’d offer DDs room but she’s 7 it’s very girly and it’s no bigger than his.
