Last post got filled so starting a new one

I’m still stuck on the waiting list, but holding out hope to be moved to the codes group

I should get a code today for the Dublin sale tomorrow, I have a very nervous pair of thirteen yearolds hoping I can do it. Of the various family members and friends that registered only I got access, everyone else is waitlisted.

This is even worse than the search for the wretched Elsa dress when they were four. Nobody warns you about this stuff in the parenting books 😁

Where are you looking to go? I got taken off the waitlist and given a code for Murrayfield I'm not using as I already got a pre sale code if you want to try it? Not sure what seats are left, but there were a few seated ones last night, minimum price was £661 per ticket though x

I just came off the waitlist for Liverpool about an hour ago, logged on and only £661 tickets left, ugh!

Has anyone come off the waitlist for Cardiff yet? Every time I get an email I'm like pleeeeasseeee say I'm off the waitlist!!!

Not that I imagine there are non VIP tickets left

Save yourself time and book yourself to a proper gig e.g. Courtineers, Pulp, Chemical Brothers etc.

Apparently a 3 hour show by someone who plays 4 different instruments isn't a "proper" gig.

I think people who have no idea what she actually does think she stands there in a sparkly outfit and head mic like a lone member of Girls Aloud.

I was chatting about it with colleagues recently and they acted similarly to this poster. I said I love Taylor because she writes her own music, her lyrics are very clever with little hidden messages and stories etc, she's very talented, not just a singer.

They looked at me like I had two heads. Someone said 'The Beatles did those things too.' And I was like, well yeah... And they were huge!

Then someone piped up that they had Foo Fighter tickets and everyone cheered and said 'now that makes sense, that's a gig.'

I don't understand it, it really frustrates me.

@TrickorTreacle Well I've got Taylor Swift tickets as I'm a massive swifty. I've also got Foo Fighters tickets because I love them.And went to see several hard core punk bands last year AND I'm going to a hippy music festival next month as I like that too.

I have seen Taylor Swift, she is amazing live. I'd see Pulp if they were actually playing anywhere I could easily get to. Chemical Brothers don't interest me but I don't feel the need to be an arsehole to people who are.

What do you gain from a thread like this?

Yeah we're all allowed to like what we like. I know I can avoid these topics and stay away from social media, but there have been a few threads on this now and it's all over the press which is hard to avoid.

We need a few more indie/dance buffs on Mumsnet :-)

It's misogyny, pure and simple. If a man wrote with such poetry and talent, he'd be hailed a genius, but an attractive woman? Nope, tear her down, can't be allowed. People deny it, but that's what it comes down to. You can not like someone but still recognise their talent, anything else is hating her because she's a successful woman, and they should probably have a good look at themselves and try to understand why they feel that way. And then work on trying not to be an absolute prick.

People just enjoy being superior and sneery and pissing on other people's chips.

FWIW I was a huge indie fan as a teenager and still am but that doesn't stop me being a Taylor fan now

I have tickets but still fascinated by the whole thing and have friends who want tickets.

When will they do buy back/ resale? I imagine they'll go instantly!?

@TaylorTickets thank you for the threads, I was so prepared for the sale because of everyone's invaluable advice! I still only got 2 tickets (had to get vip package) when I really wanted 4.

I'd love to try for more tickets, will they open it up to non code holders do you think?

There seem to be loads of tickets on Viagogo ( a bit cheaper than the £661 VIP tickets that are available after coming off waitlist) Are they legit though?
