Landlord and Workmen

landlord has messaged to say they want to repaint the front & back door - I said fine, but asked if I could have his contact details and at least a rough estimate of when he would be here. Her response said she couldn’t give me a day or time as he’ll just pop in at some point between his other jobs and they will just give him a key if I’m not in…

Aibu to think they should at least be able to give me a day/rough time frame? Working from home Thursday and planning to have people round Friday aft and now I feel like I have to be on constant standby

Yep they are not actually allowed to do this . 24 hours minimum.

'Sorry, that won't work for us, I need to be in the house while he's there - otherwise my contents insurance would be invalid. Thanks!'

Having painted my own front door recently it takes a while to dry and the door has to be left while it does.
How is that going to work?
