Is this even possible or is she mad?

I have an upstairs neighbour (she's not at the top) but she keeps complaining about the noisy footsteps from my kids and I. She says she can hear us running/walking because of my laminate flooring. Which she highlights is against the tenancy agreement.
Funnily though, I don't have laminate. I have Vinyl. Which I've told her before but she insists it's laminate.
Is it even possible that she could be hearing us from upstairs? Because that seems extremely ridiculous to me. I imagine it's the neighbour above her but I'm open to being wrong if anyone has had a downstairs neighbour make loads of noise.

Sound can travel weirdly like that, yes. And why would she lie?

I mean she could certainly hear your kids, footsteps do tend to ricochet upwards as well as down.

However laminate is against your tenancy agreement?! What’s wrong with laminate?!

I should also mention, the lady above her has 5 kids... so I personally am very convinced it her and not me and my kids. I also feel the vinyl absorbs a lot of potential sound. But she keeps insisting I have laminate.

Apparently laminate is loud so it's not allowed.

Why would she lie? Well she only started complaining when I started complaining about things like her parking in my space and her sons playing their trumpets after 10pm during the week.
Prior to me complaining, she was fine.
