How to pay bills when over 60- benefits

Doreen, 60, has recently taken early retirement due to ill health. She worked part time in a local authority admin job and her pension is around £900 per year.
She is not eligible for state pension until she is 67.
What would be the most appropriate benefit to claim? Pip or ESA?

@GarlicGrace thanks. Yes I directed her to that. Would UC mean she had to look for work?

Not if she provides doctors notes and passes the DWP assessment to put her in a particular category - limited capability for work. She will get £390 on top of the standard UC allowance.
