Just that really.

I think regards sounds grumpy.

Best wishes slightly flimsy.

Yours sincerely is more for hard copy letters.

Saw yours truly the other day but that sounds odd and somehow ancient.

I’m in a senior professional role in quite a conventional field. Currently use kind regards but feel like an update.

What are people using just now?

Kind regards - in every and all situations

Shoxfordian · 15/07/2023 14:30

Kind regards or Many thanks but not if I’ve already said thanks in the email

WeWereInParis · 15/07/2023 14:30

Kind regards or many thanks, depending on the email.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 15/07/2023 14:31

Thanks

Assignedtoworryyourmother · 15/07/2023 14:31

Depends what the email is. A response to a query from a colleague, I just answer with no sign off.
A response to someone I don't work with as closely or to a mass email - my name/Thanks
Not a colleague - many thanks/kind regards

Imicola · 15/07/2023 14:32

All the best,

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 15/07/2023 14:32

Many thanks, kind regards, or just 'regards' if they've annoyed me 😁

spaghettimaretti · 15/07/2023 14:32

Oh interesting, lots of kind regards so far. Maybe no update needed!

AgnesX · 15/07/2023 14:33

Kind regards

I really don't stress about it or whether there's one at all or even if there's a salutation (depending on who its from)

Do we do salutations? I always use Dear. Have irrational dislike of Hi in prof emails.

Don’t do what I did once and put my initial and kisses to the head master without thinking..

angelikacpickles · 15/07/2023 14:36

"Best regards" on all work emails.

TeenLifeMum · 15/07/2023 14:37

With best wishes (sensitive emails)
best wishes (standard emails)
many thanks (when I’ve asked for an action)
BW (colleagues in my direct team)

10HailMarys · 15/07/2023 14:38

It depends who I’m emailing.

‘Kind regards’ is my most formal sign-off, for people I don’t know at all. Next level down would be ‘Many thanks’ or ‘Best wishes’. Colleagues I chat with regularly and know well get ‘All the best’ or more likely ‘Cheers’.

I sign off with just ‘Regards’ it means I fucking hate you.

Unless I’m annoyed with you… 😂

justme2022 · 15/07/2023 14:38

Kind regards but only (like PPs) because it gives me the option of dropping the kind when people piss me off.

MirandaWest · 15/07/2023 14:39

Kind regards generally especially to external emails. If they have annoyed me somewhat I may downgrade to Regards.

For internal emails it will quite often be Thanks or Many thanks

I always use good morning/afternoon

You can get away with "Good morning" and no name. makes it easier if they've signed with their surname and you don't know whether to use first name or not, and it saves worrying about "Dear" or "Hi".

I end with "Thanks" "See you tomorrow" or similar if appropriate, otherwise either Kind Regards or mirror the person I'm replying to.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 15/07/2023 14:40

I received an email today where the sign-off was "Warmly" . Fucking hideous😂

I don't like any of them - will say Thank you/ Thanks/ Cheers if I'm asking for something. Otherwise I just aim for a friendly tone and sign off with my name

Marsyas · 15/07/2023 14:40

All the best, for most
Cheers, for more informal emails

BabyDubsEverywhere · 15/07/2023 14:40

Hi there,
Many thanks

I don't work so I expect this is too informal for most.
