So DH and I share a bathroom. It's small - room for a shower, loo, one sink with mirror over and one storage unit. We can't do anything about that right now (but we will be doing something in the future) so have to live with it.
The storage unit has 8 small shelves. 4 are open, 4 are behind doors. (2 doors, 2 shelves in each)
Currently we use one open shelf for stacks of loo roll (DH insists on having at least 8 rolls stacked within easy reach - seems very worried about running out while actually using the loo 😄 - trauma from boarding school days I think 🤔)
Another open shelf has clean hand and face towels, and a 3rd has a set of scales on it (not enough room to leave it conveniently on the floor). My hairdryer has to sit on the scales.
That leaves one open shelf which I use for all my makeup, moisturisers, hair products, hair brushes etc.
The 4 shelves behind the doors are filled to the brim with my DH's "stuff". If you can name it, it's in there. Moisturisers, shaving balm, beard trimmers (he has 3!), hair gels, plasters, soaps, mouthwashes, spare toiletry bags for when he travels, aftershave (dozens and he rarely uses any). I could go on, but you get the picture 😄 He could probably keep Boots stocked for a month 😄
Yesterday, while I'm rushing to do my makeup go out to a party, DH announces that he needs some free space on the open shelves as he needs to be able to put his glasses, watch and other bits down when he takes them off before having a shower.
I ask why he can't clear some of the crap from his shelves and put these things there, but apparently it's not convenient for him to actually open and close a door in order to put his stuff down and so he needs me to clear half my makeup shelf so it can be empty and ready for him to use.
Now obviously I 'kindly' and with 'great patience' 😉 explained that was not going to happen any time soon, and after a bit of a strop he backed down.
But it made me wonder, do other MNs have similar small bathroom problems with their partners/husbands or is it just me that is married to a male grooming product freak?
