Challenging Council Tax Scotland

AIBU unreasonable to think it's absolutely ridiculous the council tax valuation assessors only allow those who have been taxpayers of a property for under 6 months to challenge its Band valuation within those 6 months and if not then you're supposed just be ripped off and pay more than your neighbours? I have still made the proposal but advised it may be refused as I've been the taxpayer (overpaying) for too long.

The only reason I am challenging it now is because I had no idea beforehand. I have been taxpaying for 3 years and bought the same property 8 months ago.

We had a reassessment 10 years after we moved in because we had no idea our neighbours were paying less. We didn’t get the lower rate and now im worried all the neighbours were updated. Man was a creepy bugger wanted to see in my bedroom as he didn’t believe we didn’t have a loft conversion and then stood talking to me across the bedroom door. Thankfully my mother was visiting and checked if everything was ok. I did complain but didn’t get a response

I complained and was refused on the grounds of it being more than 6 months. I've had the pleasure of being a band higher than my neighbour and paying more for my CT for the same house (minus conservatory, I don't have one!) For 18 years!

Do you live with a partner ? Could you change the council tax into their name and then get it reassessed?
