A friend sent me this screenshot of a mutual friends insta (appreciate we sound 13 years old at this stage). She’s worried it’s a dig at her as she’s had a lot going on herself which she hasn’t shared with anyone and she got a pointed message from our pregnant friend and then this appears on her SM.
This is all pathetic and weird but why oh why would someone make that post in the first place? Why would everyone you know check in constantly (bar previous loss, high risk pregnancy, HG etc etc which this friend hasn’t had). The world doesn’t revolve around you, pregnant or not. Right?

Surely the pointed message she received is more relevant than the quote?

It's a sad copy and paste - I really really fucking hate the cancer ones !!!
Ignore

Massively self absorbed post! I’d just ignore but I hate people who post crap like this on social media. It’s so attention seeking.

Why would she though? It’s not a personal account it’s just an account with thousands of shitty quotes.

Why wouldn't she though? It just seems odd to point people to a random insta account... Unless that's the point of posting in the first place.

GotMooMilk · 13/07/2023 15:38

Honestly I didn't really think about it! It wasn't a deliberate thing.

Ughhhhh this silly girl sounds far too immature to be having a baby.

S0upertrooper · 13/07/2023 16:58

I have a relative that posts this kind of passive aggressive shit on SM, usually pointed at her MIL. It's pathetic and tedious but it increases as her MH decreases.

I file it with "Checked into A&E" posts 🙄

Danascully2 · 13/07/2023 17:06

These types of posts are attention seeking nonsense. Just as annoying as the 'been such a hard day' type vague posts inviting questions about what's wrong.

LoneStarState · 13/07/2023 17:09

She might be giving birth to sweet little baby Jesus, you never know!

Just imagine what she’ll be like once the baby is born though. And I wonder if she herself checked on her pregnant friends, co workers etc previous to her own pregnancy, probably not.

Madamecholetsbonnet · 13/07/2023 17:14

The only reasonable response to this kind of shite is a thumbs up, or “you ok hun?”

orangeyeahthatsright · 13/07/2023 17:25

She sounds incredibly entitled. Apart from anything else, not everyone feels they want to be fawned over. I once asked a pregnant friend how she was feeling and got snapped at that she 'wasn't ill', I knew that, I was trying to acknowledge that a big thing was happening for her. Obviously that's just as rude, but it's easy to feel one can't win.
