Does power always corrupt?

I am so disappointed by yet another scandal involving a man in power. I actually thought 'he who shall not be named ' at British broadcasting, was a nice guy. But clearly not.

Are there any decent people out there who hold power and money?

I'm so sad by society :( sad about corruption by those in power. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I don't lack trust, I've always shrugged these things off as 'well there will be bad eggs everywhere'. But lately it just seems that there are so many men (usually men, though sometimes woman, don't think gender matters) who once they have money and power feel they can do what they like, rules don't apply and they can act as corruptly as they want

So depressing. What a society we live in. Personally I'd like to emigrate. New Zealand seems nicer.

Anyone know any powerful people with money that are, actually, decent humans? Anywhere in the world?

… because there is no corruption in New Zealand

Well I know, it's everywhere. Just seemed a little less there, but I guess not! Any powerful, rich people anywhere that are actually nice, have morals and are decent humans? Please restore my faith!!

I think high profile men who have sought and won fame and success often also have extremely high sex drives and a tendency to prioritise themselves and use others.

Interestingly I heard of a female example recently.

Yes! He's one of their highest paid employees, in a position of trust. In a huge position of power

I think the morally corrupt are everywhere. It’s just the rich, famous and apparently powerful that the newspapers report on.

Poor, unknown people with no obvious power can be just as dreadful as the rest of us.
